Indian aviation industry made large scale surge in recent years.
Low cost airlines , Air Deccan , brought flying to the commoner.
Enamoured by the fare, attracted by the discounts, happy with the duration, elated by the thought of flying , the average Indian was delighted to participate in the air traffic.
His joy was short-lived.
The airports levied tax, which was equivalent to the air fare.
Computing the ticket charges, the tax, and the transaction fee, a ticket became expensive.,very much beyond an average Indian capacity.
A passenger cajoled by the comforts of flying ,had to give up and return to train journeys.
Air Deccan lost its charm and quietly passed into the hands of Kingfisher.
It was a transition, smooth, but beyond comprehension.
On 15/October/2008. Jet airways , and Kingfisher ,private airliners entered into an agreement, much to the bewilderment of the public, as they were arch rivals.
Nearly 1900 .probationary officers, of Jet airways, irrespective of thier departments,300 .staff,of Kingfisher airlines were sacked, much to the chagrin of the workforce
A protest was held in Andheri , Munbai by the retrenched employees, who offered to work for 10.000 ,sans any perks and allowances., a sad, pitiable subjugation of the staff..
The spokesperson of the airlines , were reluctant to call back their announcement.
Their argument was that they had been compelled to resort to such actions to bring down the loss.
Praful Patel , stated that the government will not interfere into the issues of the private airlines.
Naresh Goyal, the chairman of Jet airways made a dramatic announcement on 16/Oct/2008,that he has reinstated the 1900 employees.
His melodramatic proclamation they are “my family —can join work from tomorrow(Friday).I cannot see tears in their eyes,.It is not under political pressure. ——–,It is my personal decision as father of the family.”
What a turn of events!!
Unbelievable, Unimaginable .’Tears in the eyes of 20 year old,’ ,’Father of a family,’
What is really happening. ?
This sacking and reinstating ,all in a hurry, is sacreligious.
Is it any pressure, any manipulation, any threat, any compulsion, any commitment ,that has brought this quick transformation.
What is the alchemy behind such an incongruity?
Naresh Goyal is a villain, and a culprit in the guise of a hero.
A tragicomedy has been expeditiously staged with exhibiting grandeur.
The latent histrionic skills display have a ridiculous melodramatic impact.
The Indian ineffectuality has been converted into an eventuality.
The politician ,and the elite have conjoined viciously , have contradicted the Indian tolerance, have strangled the Indian naivety, have conjured the Indian innocence, have misconstrued the Indian faith, and have underplayed the Indian talent.
The Indian is unceremoniously let down. by his elected representative and the elite ,alike.
