You espy an  ancient town,

You see  heads all through,

You  perceive  narrow lanes,

You encounter chaotic traffic,

 Yet Meenakshi temple baffles you.

You hear loud speakers blasting,

You listen to constant chatter,

You  catch high-toned speech,

You heed to  hot topics,

Yet Meenakshi temple enraptures you..

 

 

 

Enter Madurai,

You feel the humidity,

You experience the heat,

You exhaust your energy,

You  wallow in perspiration,

Yet Meenakshi temple enlivens you.

 

 

 

Enter Madurai,

You think of a small town,

You  contemplate on divinity,

You reflect on philosophy,

You deliberate on Tamil.

Hence Meenkashi temple  captivates you.

 

 

Sing the praise of Meenakshi,

Adorn the deity Meenakshi,

Invoke Goddess Meenakshi,

Recall the spirit of Madurai,
