Apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Fruits   neutralise the metabolism of a body.

They add  to the well being , and serve as a potential energiser.

Indigestion and flatulence .the most common ailment in modern fast food era, were cured by grandmothers with an essence of ginger, profusely nixed with honey.

Common cold , the most vibrant indisposition , was treated with  the  concoction of tulsi leaves and honey.

Diarrhoea was controlled by grinding the young pomegranate . The ground paste was mixed with curd , and taken  thrice a day.

Bowel upsets  with discharge of mucous  ,supposed to be a serious infection , was taken care of by a simple technique.

Powdered sugar with ghee ,was given to the patient thrice or four times , depending on the frequency.

The result was amazing and immediate.

Incessant cough was minimised by  the prescription of  finely chopped onions fried in ghee,smattered with panang kalkandu.

Wheezing and asthma were subsidised by  consuming a five vilva leaves with two pepper pods and a glass of hot milk taken every morning.

Oil bath every week was a great energiser. Warm oil (gingely or coconut) was applied profusely on the head, and  body.  After  half an hour, shikakai made watery with rice boiled water ,acts as a cleanser.

The effect is wonderful. The body feels relaxed and rejuvenated. The hair looks lustrous and glowing.

The skin becomes soft and the limbs turn out to be supple and flexible.

Most illness was  cured at home , with simple ingredients.

Grandmas were home doctors.

The health of the family was robust .

Doctors were consulted only during serious ailments.

Pure vegetarian diet culls the animal instincts in man.

A strict follower of this food is mostly away from crudities.

The withdrawl from non vegeterian dish-chicken ,lamb .pork and fish, render  him   most pleasant and genial.

This abstinence sharpens his Wit

His blood is not contaminated by foul fat.

It is free from cholesterol.

The flow in the blood vessel is even and regular.

His behaviour is most approved.

His posture is charming.

He deters himself from committing a sin.

He does not kill a fellow creature for his bread.
