They are fearful to me,
I had three dogs in all,
Which I got as pups free .
Ampi was quiet and lovely
It was alert and happy
Never unruly but always friendly.
Yet I was afraid of Ampi.
The second one lasted a while ,
Got wayward and become bad,
With heavy heart banished it to an exile,
Yet I was scared of the lad.
Jeffrey the last one of its kind,
To be reared at my house
Was a rogue and rage blind,
A terror to all without grouse.
Barking and snarling at strangers,
Charging and going around them,
Guarding them as a ranger,
Biting them at their first move glum.
All through its long innings,
It lived untamed and untrained,
At the sight of my boys started grinning,
Nudging and nestling close as well-trained.
I fear dogs both at home and away,
Know no reason for my apprehension.
I feel it is an inborn ,inherent fray,
Handed over to me by ancestral inhibition.
