the onslaughts strike us unaware
they do come one after one in a day
leave us shocked and almost bare
the floods carries both coveted and ordinary
the fire destroys all into cinders in no time
the storm rages with a speed extraordinary
everything happens so sudden without a chime
have to believe that insurgence causes disaster incredible
only other to understand 
that impermanence is inevitable
The world peace is at jeopardy
man shoots not tardy
kills one here and two there
a host of people yonder
a hundred almost here
east, west, south and north
bear the heat of the hearth
a state of art is killing
who is at the back of the billing?
a question to answer in earnest
who could be the target?
another one faces us all cold.
Being a deluge
washes away in a huge
makes Chennaites refugees.
The habit of taking bags for shopping
that been from the days of yore
has dwindled in the course of time in core
none wish to carry bags from home for purchasing
pick and choose the requirements in the store

Arrogant he had been all his life
never even condescended to his wife
rugged he looked in appearance
did not show any reverence
be it his parents or friends
a man who did not extend
a smile as if it was expensive
people were always apprehensive
being he a man of moods
his talk was very crude
his behaviour atrocious
he was all along malicious
ever did he strike with a vengeance
ever did he commit without reference
born with a golden spoon
he was responsible for his doom
he deviated from the norms
thus invited a storm
finally got overturned by the cyclone
he died as a sad man all alone.

eyebrows bushy

but in quick steps

three months toil

The result is not much

expenses and income
work not a difference.
Well, this be the status
being that of a farmer
tilling his land
brings not anything much .
Year after year he does
grumbles and mumbles
does it anyhow
not much of a gain.
The pleasure lies not on revenue
experienced through cultivation
the green fields and crops
lend a satisfaction utmost.
Never would the farmer
earn a treasure
the sight of the laden crops
is but a pleasure.
It is a harp
played so sharp
the music flows
the face glows
lights up the singer
brightens up the listener
a lovely melody significant
a relaxation different
with closed eyes I hear
soft and soothing brings tears
I forgets the environment around
as the song takes me in a round
am I happy all the way?
am I sad in a sway?
I myself wonder for a moment
the song elevates my soul
enthralled I am on the whole.
