Fuming and Frothing.

A betrothal  is about to take place in a couple of days.

It is a source of rejoice and gaiety.

But the inner  circle in the family, behaves in a most unpleasant, undesirable manner.

The uncles and aunts  spill out curses and swear in the name of God , that the young ones should not have a happy married life.   My ears are plunged with shrieks and cries. .

I stand apart in utter disgust..  The relatives , had earlier shooed many alliances , by throwing out slanderous details of the parents .

Now , their anger is pivoted against the young couple.

They spit venom. They quote past incidents. They point out , how they have been deceived, how they endured trials and tribulations, how they were pushed out, how they were humiliated.

The parents may have committed mistakes. They may be at fault. They may be castigated . What did the children do ? Why  do the kith and kin conduct a tirade against these youngsters?

Is it the time to entertain animosity?

Should they not join together, and make the occasion a grand success?

Should they not congregate an d contribute the might to make the wedding a remarkable celebrations?

Should they not gather to bless the young couple , long life and prosperity?

The mean mindedness reveal the inhuman instinct , the fuming exposes the horrid dismay, and the frothing expresses the diseased  mind.

State Bank Of India -The Lion and The Mouse.

The lion and the mouse, is a  short allegorical narrative  by Aesop.

State Bank of India  is a lion in stature., but  with the smallest heart. It has grown enormously, but the stimulus is negative. It talks much and does little. It boasts of being genuine, but in terms it is pretentious. It expresses affability, but it practises animosity. It reveals that it goes by principles, but  in shadow it  breaks all norms.

Its balance sheet propounds  details  of companies that have not repaid their loans. They amount to billions. The accounts of these companies propel  enormous irregularities. The  sanction of loans had been effectively  prompted. The repayment schedule has been purposefully adjusted. The aberration in settlement of dues have been cleverly camouflaged. These propositions have been voluntarily facilitated , as they belong to the elite, who are  running the bank and the finance ministry , in defacto.

Meanwhile, an entrepreneur, of modest means and sincere records, fails in his procedure of payment, the officials catch hold of his collar, prod and incite his equanimity, and render him  pshycologically irrelevant.

The broken man ,  after great struggle, makes the payment as called for.

The Bank’s hunger is not appeased, it wants more. The officials , once again start their merciless drive. This time, they  intend to kill him both physically and morally

The entrepreneur rises up  and seeks legal remedy.

There is a saying in Tamil.

“sadhu mirandal kadu kolladhu”, meaning,”if a genial person is provoked , the entire forest will be set ablaze”

Like the mouse, this man  is sure to come out of the entanglement , by using his prudence and goodwill.

The Lion, here metaphorically ,the great Stae Bank ,will be entrapped by its so called VIP constituents . It has  to be  pulled  out from the maze  by the  genuine entrepreneur.

Rejoice Rebuffs Remorse.

Media,  made a significant contribution ,in publishing the news about Karanunidhi’s family ensemble.

They carried  a group photo of  estranged Marans  looking cheerful, with  brothers,Alagiri- Madurai chieftain appering  joyful , Stalin –  the sitting Minister heaving a sigh of relief   with father Karunanidhi beaming, and with   mother Dhayalu smiling. It was  virtually a perfect  disposition  of rejoice.

A beautiful photography,  giving expression to all  positive sentiments as proposed by the top family of Tamilnadu.

But the picture , lacked the most  required  gesture, that of remorse.

Three innocent lives of promising youngsters, was plucked by the  demonstrators devilish behaviour  at Dinakaran Office in Madurai, last June.

The parental grief, the anguish of the family, the  truama of  the brutal  beating  the three young men encountered,  while laying down their lives,  will never  be reported  by  the media.

The intensity will not be transcribed, will not be recorded, will not be brought to light , as they belong to ordinary folks, who  supported  their parents  and who earned  their livelihood by slogging in such demeaning offices.

Remember ,as  splendour brings in harmony, grief too heralds unity.

The story of “The Three Bears” .  crossed my mind as,. I noticed.the  picture of these celebrities.Father bear, Mother Bear and the Baby bear, had a life of their own , away from the multitude, in  a make believe world of fantasy.

This  unusual reference, is brought in  , as a humorous  interlude to  heighten the emotional  impact by means of contrast.

Buddham saranam kachami , unwantedly  keeps on ringing in my ears, nagging my mind,  setting it to a discordant  upbeat.
