Karunanidhi has created a gibberish sensation. He came back to Chennai , with a feigned disappointment.He made Manmohan and Sonia Gandhi talk to him ,as if he is not intersted in joining the cabinet.. He posed himself to be self sufficient and effective. He got admitted in the hospital for acute back pain, which was due to his sojourn in Delhi. He convened an executive committee meeting of his party, then cancelled it , saying that he got an emergency call from Manmohan Singh. Finally, he has agreed to join the cabinet,with three cabinet ministers, and three state ministers. His son Alagiri is to don the robe as a minister of an important portfolio. His daughter kanimozhi , is also in the list. What a finale to the political melodrama. He has pleased his two wives, by putting his outspoken son from the first wedlock in a high pedestal, and alloting a berth to his vivacious daughter from the second combination.

A Tamil saying reads thus , manalai kayiraga thirikalam. Yes ,the ailing octogenerian has spun yarn out of sand. The grand old man, has converted politics into a lucrative business, He has transformed multiple marriages into multifold progressions. He has churned family into an industrial venture. He has installed his children in exalted posts.He has earned revenue as a writer, as a producer of films, as a major stakeholder of a Telivision channel,Sun T.V ,as a founder of a brand new Telivison channel, Kalaingar.But his main role is in politics. It has rewarded him the most. His consolidated net income from his investments is nothing compared to his invisible kickbacks from politics.

The family of Karunanidhi , is blessed twice. Primarily, they have a solid fallback, a mountain of funds to recline, a storehouse of properties to languish. Secondly , they have an enviable control over the central government, by occupying vital ministerial berths and a full sway over state politics.

The people have endowed the aged man, with honour and fortune in a beautiful platter. The astute statesman has diverted this opportunity to enrich his family. The hope of the electorate was, that they would receive better service and best possible development in the areas of education, agriculture, industry , health, infrastructure.But, as usual , they have to count the not laid eggs in an empty basket.A strain of murmur is faintly heard. A grunting sigh is vaguely felt.But ,no, a voice cries from the widerness, “Karunanidhi is sleeping in a cosy bed.Do not disturb”.

“Let you take rest, Old man, You have accomplished your duty for the day.”

Political Volcanoes

Volcanoes erupt emitting fire and heat. They let out gas ,hot molten rock ash.

The political volcanoes of recent times, are the Taliban in Afghanistan, the Liberation Tigers in Sri Lanka, the Iraq conflict ,to name a few.

The Talibans ,are a ruling faction Of Afghanistan. Their rule was conspicuously marked for the treatment of women. The intervention Of U. S added fuel to the fire. There is an excessive case of damage ,emphatic turmoil , and unnerving deaths.

The Liberation Tigers Of Eelam, as the Tamils of Sri lanka, term themselves . are fighting for a separate country based on the language. They had relentlessly been fighting for 33 years. What started as a demonstration for equal rights , has crystaslised into a controversial military hampering.In the years , there was a large scale exodus to India , Canada, Britain , France an Malaysia.There was also a predominance of casualties on both sides, that of life, buildings and peace.

The Sri lankan volcano has erupted finally with the death of LTTE leader Prabhakaran.It must have been a gruesome confrontation. The people of the island crave for normal life . Not a day passes without the sound of the guns.

The Iraq war has many conspiracy theories.George Bush invaded Iraq , for combating terrorism and also for U.S dominance over oil. The second reason may sound erroneous, but there is a little truth also. The war , has sacked Saddam Hussein, has disturbed the tranquillity of the region, and has resulted in enormous bloodshed.

Political Volcanoes are much more severe than natural Volcanoes. Nature’s fury is beyond our control. But this man made aberrations could have been easily halted , in their initial stage , if the concerned , had considered liberalisation. Letting a fair deal is a sign of understanding, a signal of compassion and a significant reaction to violence.

A smile litters the mind. A sincere attempt reinforces the foundation. Swelling pride and serpentine endeavours have shrouded the frequent negotiations. The net outcome is bloodshed.

Indian Share market had an astonishing recovery on 18/May/2009.It was not a mere jump, but a high jump which baffled Olympic winners who set new records. It is an all time wish that this high jump should also embrace the long jump . They should go hand in hand,The high and the long should supplement and complement each other. Sustenance , should be vitalised.Nevertheless ,the escalation alone would presume a slithering showcase.

The markets were closed ,as the entirety was dumbfounding. There was mirth and joy, thudding and thumping, revelling and rejoicing.A trader , who had stocks worth 25 lakhs, a year ago , saw them tumble gradually to the level of ten lakhs. The ten lakh status was more or less maintained, just oscillating between nine and eleven lakhs. On Monday , there was a speedy spurt. It rose to 15 lakhs. The trader , who was downcast all these months , had a seducing satisfaction.

A stable government has brought this cheer. Stability, includes, steadfastness ,continuance,constancy and character of purpose.The election mandate has brought with it a sincere companion , that of stability.

This firm exposition to disintegration is a value added product. This consistency is a predominant quality ,a precursor to economic progression. The progression will not be constrained to arithmetic enlargement but push in a geometric extension.!8/May/2009 , marked a sign of reverse trend in the market. The mid half of 2009, augurs well, with steep climb in stocks . Economy is , straightening up.Industry has to take a headway plunge into the well being. Unemployment will in course of time diffuse like morning dew. Real estate , which perceived a sluggish slump .will peep out and espy greener pastures.

Looking from all directions, I am able to conclude that franchise, or putting it rudely ,the vote of the poor man has reinforced prosperity. The politician ,should understand the value of the rights, should deliver good to the people ,who have voted him to power,and stop seeking personal gains.

The whole system seems to be extremely paradoxical . The methodology exhibits severe irony. The game of scapegoatism should be halted. The mobility of simple faith , blind trust and ignorant entreaties should not be misconstrued. A plain sheet of transparent governance should be the motto of the Congress led Government.

Karunanidhi in Wheels

The Lok sabha elections have given a vivacious jump to the ailing head of Tamilnadu. Known for his oratory, and astute statesmanship, Karunanidhi has proved himself as a veritable father too.He has assigned the state to his second son Stalin, the central minister ship, to his eldest son Alagiri, thus keeping the family safe from the rife of sibling in fights. Alagiri ,has not contested so far, but now has emerged successful with thumping majority. His flamboyant ways should get tempered ,as he is about to assume the role of Minister,and Karunanidhi is insisting that an important portfolio should be given to his son.

The elderly statesman, does not lie content wit this alone. He is demanding a position for his nephew, Dayanidhi Maran and also a junior status to his daughter Kanimozhi.A beautiful partition, has been accomplished. Even the emperors and Kings would not have executed so meticulously.History tells us of quarrels, feuds and upheavals. Son killing father for power, brother murdering brother for kingdom, nephews striking against uncles for the throne, and conniving , scheming behind the curtains ,thus causing a compulsory threat to the ruler.

Karunanidhi, a poet himslf, and a voracious reader had made a research of such extraneous incidents, analysed the piquancy of the problems, deliberated on the confiscations,and drew a game plan this year. Physical discomfort , did not deter his mind set. On the contrary , the sickness has invigorated his acumen.He quietly decided to pitch his tomboy Alagiri for the Parliament election. He was fully assured , that this offspring of his will by hook or crook will win ,if allotted a seat. He has won,much to the relief of his soft natured brother..The stage has been set. karunanidhi ,has played a pivotal role.Till now,his game has worked .

Is this tale not amazing? Is it not more fantastic than a fairy tale?

Long ,long ago, so long ago, there lived a king, so opens the fairy tale. Our fascinating story opened eight six years ago, when the child named karunanidhi was born to Anjagam of Tiruvarur.The humble household has given to the world a man with powerful eloquence, a poet with a mastery over Tamil, a prose writer of merit, ,an erudite politician, a shrewd businessman, who has made tonnes and tonnes of money in politics. He has cashed on his ailment and infirmity. As every fairy tale ends , they lived happily ever after, our story also winds up with a similar ending, that Karunanidhi and his family will live immensely happy hereafter, in pomp and splendour.

The dainty Manmohan has captured people’s faith,by his demure demeanour,condescending behaviour ,simple speech and radical thinking.His personality is one which commands respect. His academics is one which draws brilliance. His tenure as a bureaucrat , is one which shows no blemish.His Primeministership, is one ,which exhibits his tenacity.

The congress has been given a liberal chance , this time by the electorate.This majority, should ease the governance, as it is not restricted by different parties, with dissimilar ideologies.The main thrust by the people on the Congress, is to give them a stable government. The party should live up to the hope of the people .

Manmohan Singh , has vast experience , both as an officer, and as the head of the cabinet. His charm lies in his diplomatic and affable interaction with the opposition and with his own party-men.The major homework , the Prime Minister has to do is in choosing the right person for the right portfolio. Many diplomats , economists ,and qualified persons have been elected. Manmohan , has to make a impressive calculation and a nonchalantexamination in selection.He should not succumb to political frenzy and bigwigs pressure. He has a long rope in his hand, in the formof respectable majority which will aid him in providing impeccable governance.

The electorate has reposed entire trust in Manmohan. They have ,after 60 years of independence understood the meaning of election. The incumbent government,has been subjected to large scale interruptions by the allies.that the performance was not noteworthy.There was a phenomenal threat from the communist parties ,when the Nuclear deal came to the table. There was skirmishes from regional parties , who had lent support to the government. There was also unprecedented pressure in allotting important portfolios to the parties to the allies. This commitment hampered the delivery of sporadic rule.

The present verdict by the people has given an absolute free deal. Manmohan can go headway with his economic reforms, industrial policies, social agendas and infrastructure development without any breakdowns. Education has to be given special care, as it is the holds the key for future resurgence. Health , has to be given prominence, as there is enormous spread of cancer and immediate casualty of myocardial infraction.The industrial sector has had a severe beating ,during the last two years. They should be addressed to and a proper methodology should be launched to make a recovery.Trading sector, stocks and commodities has had a thrashing in recent quarters.. The stability of the government , will assure the market of security ,and is cautiously nourished will hasten to a steep rise in months to come.

Manmohan must inculcate a sense of discipline among the parliamentarians. The interest of the nation should come first. The personal scoring should occupy the back seat.

U.S. -Double Faced.

The fraility and the frigidity of United States Of America , are well exposed in their stand towards Sri Lanka and Afghanistan,the most troubled centres in Asia.It holds a restraint and speaks out on moral grounds on the casualties of human lives. But tends an apology on the air strikes in Afghanistan , killing hundreds of innocent children, men and women.

Why this double standard?The Afghan government is well equipped , has well trained army ,and has an evasive knowledge of the internal crisis. It can well take care of itself , without the western interference.The Afghan President , Hamid Karzai, got the recognition without the western opprobrium.

Obama should evolve an exit strategy from Afghanistan.Air strikes ,warfare and in fights are not the solution for the elimination of Taliban.Afghanistan, is a conglomerate of tribal. Negotiating , is the best principle to wade off terrorism. The Taliban , are estranged from society, have taken a deviated digression from normalcy, have taken up cudgels against innocence, in their claim for supremacy. A patient approach, an attentive hearing, and a slight lenience will bring about the much awaited peace and goodwill.

U. S should hasten to pack its bags from Afghan and maintain a diplomatic ,ethical ,non interfering attitude .This will definitely improve the scenario and restore normalcy.

Obama’s Main Target

Getting elected to the Presidency is easier than performing as a President.

Elections are an expression of hope, and expectation.We elect a person with the anticipation, that he will perform well, work out the procedures with skill and handle technical details in finances with high prowess.

In elections we have a choice, to cast a vote to a person with high capacity ,elated intelligence and leading tenacity.

The elected represntative has to moderate every paraphernalia of dictum, every corners of society, every nuances in governance, every affronted credentials in finance, every conceivable acknowledgements in economics, every proactive theories in science, every systematic appraisals in environment, every reactive preferences in society, every probable reformation in education,and every required rehearsals in infrastructure.

The President of United States has to probe , not merely glance ,into all the sections of administration, before he could emerge with a winning resolution..

The task ahead of him , may apparently look hard, difficult and mind wracking, but virtually a sensible devolution is plausible, if Obama tries a litte hard ,to go deep into the problem.It is not as scaring ,and as loathsome , but provides a well defined background.

It is easy to goad a totally defunct economy, than a partially afflicted idea logy. The economy of U.S. is practically a zero. Banks failed every Friday, and continue to fall ,for the past eight months. Auto companies are in a pathetic state. Housing is a fiasco. Tech companies are slowly falling. Much harm has been done

Obama ,has to infest a sweeping direction ,by controlling the tainted executives, by regulating broking firms, by scrutinising investment banking with a thorough check, spotting Madoff like frauds, and subscribing to frugality and modesty.

Small corrections will usher large productive evolutions, and manifest an amazing solution.

Mr.Palaniappan Chidambaram, the flamboyant Indian Finance Minister ,has advised the various sections of the industries ,to cut prices, to tide over the global financial crisis.

Well it is as good as saying , if your shoe pinches, cut your foot.

Right , going by his clarion call, cutting prices , increases demand,and the inventories and finished goods would not be piled up.

Exactly. to manufacture a product we require ,raw material, power, labour,and have to account for overhead expenses, wear and tear of machinery .

The cost of product is fixed taking into account the cost of raw materials ,conversion expense and profit margin.

Say ,if the selling price of a product is Rs 100. there will be a profit of 5-7%.

Is it possible to run an industry without profit?

If you sell the same product of RS 100, at Rs 5, then the demand will shoot up.

The Harvard educated seasoned politician is mocking trade and business.He is masquerading the disproportionate,unseemly factual and treating the industry with scorn and contempt.

It is not an alternative to retrenchment, lay offs.but an ambush to the entrepreneur pushing him into a deep muddle,into a debt pool and a sneaky pandemonium.

It is easy to preach than to practise.

His statement is similar to the Queen Marie Antoinette of France legendary excesses “if not bread ,eat cakes.”

He is advocating from a glass house, talking from a golden castle, sermonising from a diamond studded pedestal.

Fettered Governments

Governments are tagged to big business houses.

Policies and regulations have to go through the network of highly placed tycoons.

Parliament, senate, House of Lords, symbolise democracy.

They are in reality ineffectual symbols.

The passage of resolutions in the houses is only a ritual .

They have to be endorsed by the big shots.

If they are a little estranged from the code of established norms set by them , little deviated fromto their transactions, little tilted towards progress , little inclined towards development, a warning siren is sounded.

The documentary evaluations find a silent death and buried discreetly.

The elected representatives are a mere shadow to this elite community.

The politicians issue doctrines and set rules to satiate the appetite of the greedy mercenaries and appease them with delicious delights of sops and concessions.

The government machinery receives bounties and largess from the billionaires.

Altering Shakespeare on mercy , I quote.

Policies are twice blest.

It blesses the one who gives .

it also blesses the one who takes.

Business houses and the government stand to benefit.

It is the ordinary man ,who scores a duck, who stands cheated, who is left helpless, who is spurned and

who loses his equilibrium.
