a twist and a plunge
happens in a place of worship.
Those with an influence
float in the human ocean
commune with the Almighty.
It is easy for them.
Not all of us are that great.
Those of us who are not affluent,
follow the queue. Wait long hours.
Shown the door once we reach
the portal. Circumscribed by a feeling
of inferiority we exit.
The treatment destroys the intention to pray.
He carries with him a treasure,
comprising of Jewels and silk to honour her
He remembers the adolescent days.
Memories flood. His eyes turn moist.
Down the hills he journeys.
Pauses at intervals to meet the people.
His filial duties call him.
He reaches Madurai.

I perceive arid land in a stretch.

The spectrum, in its seven colours, fascinates.
Violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow and orange
throw out a beam in the firmament with a verve
is picturesque to observe.
How many seem to recognise this scenario?
Most of us are engaged in worldly pursuits.
We count the bank notes regularly
Our eyes miss Nature’s beauty.
The silver light breaks and manifests itself
as seven distinct shades
or might be all these tones
conjugate and converge as white radiance.
Nature produces poets and writers.
It brightens up the spirit of the scientist.
She interprets herself with modesty.
She is straightforward but impressive in her designs.
The spider spins geometrical designs
identical to a circle, a trapezium. They stretch in style.
An unlooked for happeningI
overwhelms me in a frenzy.
I am troubled. I change into a stone,
dumb and vacuous.
I wish to cry. I did not.
I stay composed.
Days pass. I perceive no variation.
I am dispirited, but, breathe optimism.
Months after, I detect a slight difference.
It is inspiring. I sustain.
I gain prominence.
It is competent. A triumph.
It is festival time
temples reverberate
the bells chime.
Melody permeates.
An exhilaration all the way.
The place resonates.
Shopping becomes a delight.
Antiques and modern articles abound.
A picturesque sight.
It is a ten-day celebration.
Both man and child enjoy.
