far and wide.

Dilemma holds me for a while
not an ordinary catch

I turn to the Gods,

Old, as you grow, turns
one senile, goes another,

Not so, I refute with force.

It is not the age that matters,
the mindset, the attitude
create the pitch, that way
maturity sets in,

He , call him Kantha, smiles
richness writ all over.
His eyes see nothing at par
nor do they rise up
a condescending look
he delivers with a pout.

He occupies the prime spot
wherever he goes,
likes congregation around
talks soft and gently
measuring his words, as though
a free talk will land him
in a spot undesirable.

Kantha lives likewise
an aura of fastidiousness
around him, loves to preside
never likes to sit among the audience.
Watching him from a distance
all the years, I feel he is blessed
to be born in a rich family,
else would have been another human
with the least wisdom whatsoever

I tried to solve
geometrical problems
based on Pythagoras
theorem.

I did them with ease
no struggle whatsoever,
“amazing”, I tell myself
a pat on my back,

decades since I refreshed
geometry, they still remain.

Encouraged, I wish to tackle
many more sums, I recover
my old books and work
on them with diligence.

mutual and informal.

soup in a bowl
with fritters, steamed rice,
broth and veggies,

fries and pappads
prepared meticulously,
dessert in the freezer
wait for the guests.

No sign of them till noon,
while the folk at home
waiting to join them
remain hungry,

setting aside the sensitiveness
she calls to find
they have not started
hears apologies

she withdraws to her room
not out of indignation
but frustration that
keeps her down,

she lies on the floor
controlling her seething
emotions, her eyes close
sleep embraces.

Men walk with masks
as if on moon.

The normal life
turns into an expedition.

Hands pull off
when offered to shake.

it is an epidemic turned
into a pandemic.

The masked face
expose the eyes,

which express fear
a life threatening

disease spreads
across the world.

No country is left
either cold or hot,

men feel scared
to venture out,

a work from home,
concepts takes wings,

clipped they stay
hoping to escape from
deadly virus,

a weapon stronger than
bombs atypical in
all its forms.

takes the human race
unaware, the vulnerability
matters.
