Obama Vs McCain

U.S. elections is keeping the world awake.

Obama .is the most flanked candidate

Mc Cain is the most seasoned  contestant.

Obama is expected to bring economic stability.

McCain will continue the  Reaganomics.

The stage is set.

The results will be out  shortly.

As U.S. goes to polls , the economy ,in general ,is hesitatingly low.

Obama or McCain.a tough situation,a difficult moment. a tie to tie contest, ,an interesting election 2008, is slowly ending up with a categorical ,specified ,historical win.

The indisposable Disposables.

A look around my neighbourhood sets my heart reeling.

What a plethora of carry bags, in blue ,green and yellow.!

What a huge dump of broken plastic buckets, pails and mugs.!

What an enormous pile of paper cups. plates, and bottles!

What  a refused storage of disposable bandages, syringes, and needles!

The smell emanating from the dump is foul.

The look of the notorious waste is ghastly.

The presence of such a waste bin is hazardous to health.

The health authorities are blind to this defeated decorum.

The government is sitting idle, a lethargic observer of  a destructive conduct.

Fettered Governments

Governments are tagged to big business houses.

Policies and regulations have to go through the network of highly placed tycoons.

Parliament, senate, House of Lords, symbolise democracy.

They are in reality ineffectual symbols.

The passage of resolutions in the houses is only a ritual .

They have to be endorsed by the big shots.

If they are a little estranged from the code of established norms set by them , little deviated fromto their transactions, little tilted towards progress , little inclined towards development, a warning siren is sounded.

The documentary evaluations find a silent death and buried discreetly.

The elected representatives are a mere shadow  to this elite community.

The politicians issue doctrines and set rules to satiate the appetite of the greedy mercenaries and appease them with delicious delights of sops and concessions.

The government machinery receives bounties and largess from the billionaires.

Altering Shakespeare  on mercy , I quote.

Policies are twice blest.

It blesses the one who gives .

it also blesses the one who takes.

Business houses and the government stand to benefit.

It is the ordinary man ,who scores a duck, who stands cheated, who is left helpless, who is spurned and

who loses his equilibrium.

Indian Bank

Indian bank was a non-performer a few years back.

Like Lehman bros, it would have filed Bankruptcy

Today it is a performer.

Thanks to the efforts taken by Palaniappan Chidambaram, the Finance Minister.

He singled out Indian bank from the congregation  of failed assets, for reasons best known to him,

He spotted the weakness of the bank and resolved to set right the finances of the bank, by infusing funds, much similar to the most recent Bail out Plan.

The sinking Bank was revived.

Branding it as an NPA,  stifling it with undue strictures, debasing its confidence, would have triggered a massive collapse.

If similar treatment was meted out to most Non-performing assets, a turn around in the industrial sector would have happened.

This renaissance in the finance and industrial sector .would have brought a formidable attribution and excellent rejuvenation.

Indian Bank’s reconstruction is a formula, that has to be absorbed , assimilated and worked out to build a sound financial environment.

Debt Recovery Tribunal Of India- Part II

DRT is the acronym of Debt recovery tribunal Of India.

It comes under the Finance Ministry.

DRT  is totally biased.

It acts  in favour of Banks and Financial Institutions.

In almost all cases , the companies arguments , however genuine, however poignant, however, serious, however matter of fact, however depressing, are  discarded by the Presiding officers.

The financial institutions emerge successful, by putting forth flimsy doctrines.

Supreme court and High courts pronounce a judgement after hearing both the parties, the petitioner and the defendant.

In DRT, they hear, but the final judgement is supportive of banks.

DRT,s should note,that

A company is  run by a Board of directors-Human beings

A bank is a body of officials.- again Human beings, not Gods

According to DRT , companies only err, banks are above mistakes.

This thought ,or preconceived notion is a very costly coordination and a baseless assumption.

The tribunal , should go into details of the case, and come out with meritorious proclamations.

Leniency over banks is condemnable.

Rashness over companies is detestable.

Tribunals should be fair and prompt in their pronouncement or decree.

Nama Sreenivasan.

The meaning and origin of Indian names pose an interesting subject.

The first name which came into mind was Sreenivasan.

Vasa means abode or home.

Sreeni represents good fortune.

Sreenivasan  in sanskrit is abode of good fortune,

Unfortunately , the Sreenivasan , I know, has brought me trouble.

What is in a name?

A little more care.

Today’s Tamil daily Dinamalar  came out with a clipping  about Sudhakar Yadav’s innovative car models.

Sudhakar is from Andhra pradesh , India.

His latest car variant is in the shape of a cigar.

A photo of the model is also published along with a small writeup.

The words “Breaking The Habbit” are encrypted in bold in the body of the car.

He has designed this model, as an appreciation  to the Health Ministry’s announcement ,to ban smoking in public places.

It is a very noble and laudable effort, but all I want from Sudhakar is that he should pay a little  more attention to spelling.

Habbit  should be Habit.

Well done , Sudhakar!.

A classical deceit.

Heard about a classical play, a classical recital. a classical piece of art, never about a classical deceit.

Well ,it is an oxymoron, illustrating the present economic despondency.

In the medieval era, history tells us, about, sons dethroning fathers.

In the colonial period, the British used their trading skill to gain power, and rule over most countries in the world.

The most popular saying ” the sun never sets in the British empire” is a  haughty  remark of the English., which made them brim with joy, but drove the rest to scorn at the English arrogance.

We are in such a similar situation, though with an altered perspective.

The economy of the world , is in the hands of the elite.

The elite community consists of the fortune companies, the intoxicating rich, the self enriched politicians, and the extra smart, over enthusiastic officials.

They form 1% of the population.

This self proclaimed leaders ,take law unto their hands, dictate terms, pass resolutions, force reforms, change policies. resort to tantrums ,to  roll the machinery of governance.

If a finger is raised, they overpower the destitute with might, viles, and ttreat them as outcasts.

They distance the dissenter, banish him, and go about spoiling the boot.

99% of the people ,are treated as slaves.

The majority has no voice, no face, no roots.

Is this democracy?

Is this what our forefathers intended to perpetuate?

It is an erroneous interpretation , beyond redemption.

Humanity is being cheated.

The majority is at the mercy of the minority.

99% of the people  are kneeling before 1% of the richest.

We are in a period, which is disgusting, depressing, devouring, and disenchanting.

My eyes are moist with salty tears, my mouth is full of bitter taste, my heart is heavy with hot tormenting anguish

Banish Fear.

Indian Finance Minister has advised people to remain calm.

He says, “For every seller there is a buyer “so deliberate before you sell.

Will anyone think of selling in this  turbulent market?

Does  not selling  stocks seem whimsical at this concurrence?

Shares bought at the height ,will fetch a paltry in lows.

An investment of 25,00,000 .RS ,is now in the level of 12,00,000Rs.

The ups of the sensex  index were mere speculation.

The downs are beyond imagination.

Both are a fallacy.

There is eerie of silence, extraordinary pain, and unfathomable delinquency ,prevalent all over.

In a way, the Public sector banks  in India , are fairly under control.

Their steady advances, low profile status, apprehensive allowances, firm stature, guarded approach, trying regulations ,and definite targets have enabled them to  withstand the bloody streaks.

Economy has run astray in the hands of treacherous politicians and avaricious executives.

A nation cannot  continue to pamper the manipulation and dastardly acts of the governing representatives.

Sobriety and frugality should set in.

Rending cheer to the morale of the people is not sufficient

Asking them to be composed , is a  slipshod compromise,

The real effort lies within the goverment machinery.

Frugality  in spending, simplicity in behaviour, transparency in transaction, impartiality in advances, methodical in investments, justice to all, financial inclusion of the poor, nominal interest, making repayment of loan a must to all sections, are certain allocations the  Finance Minister has to look into.

I retrospect the restricted era of finance.

I introspect the periphery of liberalised epoch of economy.

I realise the values of self strength, undaunted faith ,inimitable tolerance.

Shakespeare gives me the cue,

” No one can master the grief except the one who has it.”

The intrigued investor has to endure the pangs  with stoic fortitude, all by himself.

World is being wiped over.

It is a complete sweep.

Stocks all over the world tumble.

Banks all over  the world crumble.

Job ratio all over the world fumble.

Oil all over the world stumble.

People all over the world tremble.
