A call from the wilderness.


Hiding  toxic assets has been the general practice of the fallen banks.

Lying  , another mode to beguile the investors,is the most common trivialities of  all implementation

Mismatching its securities ,by quoting near 100% of the value, when it actually works out to 65%. is the most treacherous of all behaviour.

Replacing the top level management.since they  pointed out the follies of the top man.,is the wretched conspiracy of all conduct.

Refusing to accept merger offers,for no reason, is the most arrogant contempt of  human values

Camouflaging the balance sheets., is the most cheap practice of all  unholy business.

Cooking up the results., is the  most profane  settings to  deprive the shareholders

Adopting bullying tactics., is the last resort of failing commercials..

Finally ,saying much effort has  gone into the drains, is the most blasphemous of all evils

These, in  short,  is the paradigm of the current scenario.,

The government agencies,have also missed the vital details.

The auditing firms , have certified , these erring companies.

They would have been adequately compensated .

Transparency in all transactions is the need of the hour..

It  may not be welcomed by the elite group.

They fear ,that their money making techniques would be exposed.

A solemn vow has to be mooted,to eradicate corruption.

Strict measures have to be initiated.,since,

Disclosures will lead to findings.

Findings ,in turn will  take  to restrictions.

Restrictions will curb discrepencies.

Curtailing will  bring  good management.

Shrewd prudence will usher  prosperity.

Wealth will enrich the economy.

Economy wiill work  wonders.

This is the dream of many.

Banter epitomized by vulgarity.


I rarely spend time watching T.V.

Last night, I switched my T.V.,to be abreast with the world.

A famous channel was putting up a show.

The predominant effect of this weekly show was to make people laugh.

Laughter is the best medicine for all ills.

Its motto is fine.

Its text is banality.

People were  tickled by the ill humour.

Idealism can be promoted either way.

You can indulge in a dedicated  style.

You can also involve in a notorious  conduct.

Yesterday’s telecast  brought thunderous applause.

It invoked loud laughter.

At the height of the enjoyment, there was a cheap  dialogue, illicit sentiments,irrevrential behaviour.

They said ,it  was a representation of  the anecdotes in a family.

It did not.

I very well know, that theatre is an exaggeration of life.

Enrich the virtues by elaborating them.

Subdue the obscenity by subsidising them

Yesterdays exhibit was devoid of dignity and respect.

The channel is extremly successful.

Its viewershipi is extraordinary.

This  particular show,is the most popular of all .

Unfortunately, it does not live up to it.

We  understand that,

Humour is a therapy.

Humour is a  quality.

Humour is  an acknoweldged credential.

Its excellence is found in a presentation  underlined d by subtlety,contextual wit, dainty movements.,

and lucid  conversations.

Instead lewd jokes, incorrigible body language,provacative attire, indecent  exchange of words are now branded as banter.

Media is vested with enormous power.

It should promote  decorum

It should shun profanity.

Hello ,54 Year old!


Living is  joy.

Crossing the half a century mark,is a task.

The most happening years are closing up.

The murmur “No time to stand and stare”,dies down.

Being born, growing up, attaining adulthood, graduating into a self made individual,getting entangled in martial tie up., bringing up children, making both ends meet,have effaced the  self in a person

He finds time to look at himself,take care of himself,think of himself,only now.

His reflection is dubious to him.

Receding hairline, wrinkles around his eyes,sagging cheeks, a slight paunch,and a staggering gait, tell him that he is well over 50.

He finds it hard to believe.

“Really “!! he asks himself.

He stares at the mirror, once again.

“Mirrors do not tell lies.”,he mumbles

Bemused, he walks away from the exact  replica.

He reclines in  his couch.

He heaves a sigh .

Is it a sigh of relief?

“Definitely”, prompts his overworked mind.

Mostly all his compulsions are over.

The balance is a bonus.

He feels light, effortless.

He has to live for himself.

Now ,  he can get up late,

He can eat leisurely.

He can sip his tea, at punctuated intervals.

He can bathe longer, humming his favorite song.

He can read the newspapers ,word by word.

He can watch  T.V.

He can listen to music.,which is soul stirring.

He can take a walk, devouring the beauties of nature,

He can make friendly calls.,and socialise with his neighbours.

He can take things as it comes,without much anticipation.

His life is his own.

An age of transition  has set in.

Paulson’s Bail out plan was paused by the house on Monday 29/Sep/2008

A sad day for wall street, but a glorious day for democracy-Joseph Stiglitz-Nobel Laureate.

The Dow plunged by 777 points.

Two days later the senate passed the bill.

On Friday .3/October/2008, the House voted for the bill.

Paulson emerges victorious.

He confides that he will use the funds methodically.

A cute remark.

The men who inflicted the wounds doctor it.

It may sound ridiculous superficially.

Deep down ,the anguish has  established  a melancholic strain.

The U.S recession is unfathomable.

The progress of the 700 billion $ plan is a million dollar question.

The enthusiasm in the wall street is missing.

The investors are dazed.

The Nation is bewildered.

Regulators are injected into the economy.

Strict watch has been infused  into credit disbursements.

Appraisals of toxic assets are  initiated.

Funds are to be utilised after serious implications.

Nursing back the economy is laborious.

Nurturing requires utmost diligence and care.

 The rescue plan can be defined thus,

The cause prescribes the medicine.

It  is a symposium that reveals the startling truth.

Politicians – an altered ethos..


Politics is the last resort of the scoundrel -adage.

Right, this is taking politics  to extremes.

But , there is a grain ,I hear people mumble , there is volumes of truth in it.

This breed of society, of late, are wrenching and hacking the community .

States are squeezed,treasury is squandered,coffers are emptied, ethics are devestated  by their interruptions.

Politicians empower the nation with despair and despondency.

The first world war , the second world war, the Vietnam war, the Iraq invasion, the Cuban affair,the latest Georgia intrusions are  glaring  illustrations of political morbidity.

The outcome is nothing to revel upon.

Blood shed, deaths, unintelligible deployment of arms and ammunition,panic and exasperation are the resulting diaspora.

Patriotism is a quality of yore.

Love for the country is an outdated tempo.

Genuine progress and systematic development are remote applications.

Dynamism is the least found ideal  of the modern politician.

Nowadays,

Power is the best concoction

Money is an exemplary enthrallment.

Arrogance is the ornate gusto.

Defiance is the decorative virtue.

Politicians corrupt the mind.

They tarnish the society.

They agitate  the economy.

Finally  they end up by ruining the nation.

Following the Lehman Bros collapse. the ICICI Bank in India is shaky.

IcIcI ‘s exposure to Lehman bros is the cause for this wobbliness.

Last week ,an unexpected turn  to the bank’s composure took place.

Kayalpatinam . a small hamlet ‘in Tuticorin district ,Tamilnadu, was the venue for this non pareil exposition.

Thousands of customers queued up in the ATM centeres to draw cash.

The authorities showed undue patience and resilience in satisfying all.

The top brass of the bank ,came out with no worry messages.

They confidently announced, the exposure to Lehman  could be made up in a single day.

 Remember,”Security is mortals chiefest enemy “.says Shakespeare.

 Uncertainities loom large.

The shares of Icici bank slide -450 -500 RS

A few days after, Chennaites ,became restless.

Again ,an inimitable rush to the banks branches and ATMs.

Advertisements in the papers read ,the Bank is sound,.

Banners were put up in important city centres proclaiming that ICICI is in the pink of its health,

“All is well with the Bank'”.

The Reseve bank Of India gave a credit tag  recently spelling out that ICICI is safe.

 Anyhow,the past accounting year saw a very average performance 

Its overseas branches are making losses..

This private bank ,poses itself as a super market for finance products.

It boasts of high performance  large  volumes of credit transaction, speedy transfers, and excellent customer satisfaction.

Thinking Big ,is praise worthy.

Working Safe ,is  risk worthy.

ICICI has  been pushed to a detrimental commitment.

It has to deviate from the path which was least treaded by others.

 But has to proceed in the road much traversed.

Faith and trust are the  fundamentals to  robust insinuations.

Expansion unpresumable. expression novel,enhanced enthusiasm  are preambles to default implications

Pietical Calamity.


Chamunda devi temple near Jodhpur in Rajasthan(India) saw a tragic mishap  on 30/sep/2008.

Stampedes during festivals are becoming common in India.

Hinduism is a faith.It is a liberal belief.

It is all pervading, very excellently formulated ,accumulative

The Vedas and scriptures propound the etiquette and methods to live a wholesome life.

They are mere prompters, not  extracting strictures.

The choice is left  to  the individual.

Pomp and splendour  are  alien to Hinduism.

Humble prayers and modest behaviour are sufficient to please God.

Crowding a small temple ,in a hillock ,is risky.

Unmindful of the facilities ,9000 .gathered and brought the tragedy in its full form.

Meera was an ardent lover of Lord Krishna.

She had an idol of krishna always with her.

Her Bhajans ,and songs were drowsed with devotion

 Unable to resist her call,Lord krishna appeared before her .

 .The story rends ,thus ,she went to Heaven with  the Lord

People may question the relativity?

It may sound like a fairy tale.

A pointer ,we derive from Meera’s bhakti is most pertinent to today’s  piety.

Hers was Sathviga bhakthi -calm devotion ,

Now we trace asura  bhakthi -strong devotion.

Meera found her salvation not through pilgrimage, but through profound faith.

This should be taken note off.

Natural catastrophes, like floods, storm ,fire.earth- quakes, are out of our hands.

Man made tragedies could be well avoided .

Pilgrimage is a way to find God.

The time ,the place, the number are vital.

A little attention to these details can  avert deaths.

Every day is auspicious.

Settling for best days, good time, significant signals,are the later additions  into the most comprehensive

faith _Hinduism.

Let us not lose the effervescence of divinity by adopting unidentified codes.

Let us not dilute the exuberance of beatitude by succumbing to unrecognised modes.

Let us not  pollute sanctity with tragedy.

Let.us not convert slokas into shrieks.

Let us not transform temples into pyres.

Let us vow to  preserve the purity, grace and glory of the temples.
