Barack Obama  is holidaying in a villa in a seaside resort.

Perhaps , he is relaxing, relaxing both his mind and body, after a strenuous campaign.

He deserves it.

But the expeniditure  involved , is holding us back, is making us lift our eyebrows, induces us to frown.

When  U.S economy is running out of breath, when there is gloom and despair world over, when there is job displacement, when there is wage loss, when there are Madoffs cropping out to gulp other people’s  hard earned funds, Obama can practise thrift and moderate his expense.

Obama , as a leader should set an example to the otherwise extravagant nation.

U.S has learnt to spend less, has understood the value of money , has developed a conscious limitation  in its purchasing capacity., only recently and by a hard way.,after the downturn.

Obama .should  nurture the nation and restore glory.

Each and every move of his is watched carefully by the people.

India is a place of varied interest,multi languages, different cultures,many religions, and maxi presentations.

This ancient country excels in population, enhances in piety, endears in hospitality, enlivens in simplicity and enfolds in serenity.

The beauty of the nation  lies in the exposition  of  heritage. Temples of North and South India are architectural marvels.The North Indian style is called Nagara , the South Indian  counterpart , Dravidian and the hybrid style or Vesara is seen in Deccan.

The Nagara style has a bee hived structure. The Dravidian structure has a pyramid shaped tower. The Vesara shrines exhibit a good deal of stylistic overlaps.

The communities have distinctive characteristics and no  two sect is alike.

The progress , the country has made since independence is amazing. Technology advance is upbeat, Scientific discoveries are exciting, industrial progress is extraordinary, education has made manifold improvements, commerce  enjoys prosperity , medicine  has won world acclaim  and poverty is ebbing out.

The country has still to overcome certain back logs,  in the area of   surface transport as  roads are full of potholes., sanitary awareness  which is nil, unmindful traffic , bureaucratic inertia,  political corruption, and bribery at all corners.

Spitting and Spatting on the road, shouting and scrambling publicly, idling and languishing in street corners, mocking and provoking in conventions , imitating and parodying in common places are still in vogue.

These unpleasant, miscreant  behaviour should be hooked off from society, and we need steps severe to beat the Indians into  the right track.

Such oddities dig our composure, penetrate our defence, and make us shrug from banality.

Still , I love India.

A tribunal has an authority to judge,adjudicate on or determine claims or disputes .

A judge  is an arbiter of justice. He should conduct the trial impartially and in open court.

The Debt Recovery Tribunal of India , is an antithesis of  the prescribed norms.

It conducts trial in an open court,  hears the arguments of the respondent and petitioner, ( Company and Bank).

As in judiciary, it takes years to settle a case,giving adjournments, and one fine day settles in favour of banks.

Hundreds of cases have been finalised in such a manner.

The awards make us doubt the credibility of the tribunal. Hundreds and more references are made , and in all instances , the companies are in default, the Banks are always in the right fold path.

This is a surprising pronouncement. All the industries have defaulted , failed because of their misdeeds, collapsed because of their impractical business code .

Again , did all the banks  extended advance  at the right time and distributed appropriate funds,  sanctioned Term loan, Deferred Payment Guarantee, and working capital, by levying nominal interest, and  taking equal collateral security.?

The banks during 1991-2000 , have charged 23% interest, much higher than a money lender,have taken collateral three fold than the sanctioned limit, taken a percentage as a processing fee.

Certain companies ,by their backdoor activities , have got more than the requirement, and given a small  less  valued property as security.

How did they succeed ?Needless to say, they gave a handsome pay off to satisfy the officials.The bureaucracy accepted “something”, and disbursed the amount generously , as if they are doing it from their own pocket.

These companies ,who received large funding against low security, stand to benefit from the judgement of this presitigious  Debt recovery tribunal.

Genuine customers, who waited in patience to get the loan  application accepted, who waited for every move of the banks, more precisely put up with every delay made by the officials, who had pledged the valuable assete with the bank, stand disappointed, shaken , virtually ripped off by the judgement of the DRT.

DRT  has a blind faith on the Banks and a blind suspicion on the companies.

Banks are officiated by  men , good and bad. Companies  are formed by men ,genuine and fraud.

Tribunal  is also handled by men, but by men who have taken an oath of  promise, by which they should abide by law, speak truth, and refrain from pronouncing illicit final statements.

Unfortunately , The Debt recovery tribunal Of India , has succumbed to falsification, to power, to money and to deceit.

Spinning money , is the latest mania.

Mortals are obsessed with money and its allurements.

Make money , by hook or crook, become rich overnight, wallow in luxury, display  wealth ,are the maxims of the present populace.

Calling a convention, for  obscure  events is the fashion of the day.

Hosting a big party for  insignificant idylls is the way of  today’s life.

Spending extravagantly for short ,irrelevant issues , is the progression of society.

This strange behaviour is absolutely erroneous.  It puts salt into my mouth. It  is an abrupt contempt for society.

It  may  be termed as total disregard for environment.

Environment  pollution is not  only restricted to  surroundings, to noise, to air , to water,but also to behaviour.

This nauseating attitude  contaminates the mind by causing dipleasure and discomfort .

The harm committed thus is grave and serious., leading to mental discomfiture.

Love and let live.

Love thy neighbour as thyself

There are innumerable quotes that speak high of love.

With the complexity and diversity of feelings, love is difficult to be defined.

It is an abstract emotion.

I had to attend a function of one of my relatives, in honour of his sixtieth birthday.

He is a man of limited means, but possesses  lovable grace.

He is shot in stature , but towers above all in  his behaviour.

He is thorough in our rituals and practices, very affable, very helpful and no gossip monger.

He moves about unobtrusively , and a call brings him to the spot.

His sixteeth birthday function drew a large crowd.  People associated with him , relatives , friends , took part in the celebration with a full heart and extended their well wishes  in good faith.

The feast that followed was excellent. The small thoughtful gift , he gave was simple but beautiful.

The function was devoid of pomp and splendour, of ostentation and display of wealth.

Instead , it was one  that revealed that Love  without riches can perform, Love without glamour  can  emerge victorious.

It showed that Love conjoined with modesty and simplicity  would result in unnerving friendship and inimitable sublimity.
