The Exotic East.

exotic eastExotic lands of the east

densely occupied and full of dust

hold your breath otherwise

be the grandeur of these places

awe-inspiring architecture

amazing culture  and literature

the piety and divinity that surrounds

the grace and poise of the religion

the affable and friendly  people

all hold your breath for a while

as you get diffused in the atmosphere

a few unwanted elements surface all through

the cleanliness and the infrastructure

prompt you to sniff and scorn for a time

sure in a way the idealism that wraps  the entire

bewilders and bewitches you on the whole

not improper to say that east is gorgeous

no wonder the sun rises in the east.

The Notes And Coins—– An Allegory.

indian-currency-notes-coins-14170302Fumbling for coins

I got hold of a tuft of notes

a real issue at joints

where coins are rare.

Flashing my notes at the counter

I found no response

the man scorned at me with contempt

a piquant situation instead.

Notes, tens, hundreds and thousands

are discarded  and set aside

as if they have no value

paradoxical it sounds indeed.

The perfect change should be there

wherever you go all the way

no bargain is possible at the juncture

ironical it seems in fact.

That be the cause all through

a proper sail through is experienced

with an exact commitment

however, small or big it might be.

Credit Card And Debit Card.

Is-there-finally-a-way-to-end-credit-and-debit-card-fraud-magtek_topCredit card is Greek to me

Debit card is Latin to me

Cash Is English to me.

I know to count

I count very fast

both coins and notes.

I do not have a credit card

nor a debit card

have only little of cash.

I like not to carry forward

Cards, both credit and debit

seem to me a liability.

I buy what little I can

with what little cash I have

else refrained from buying.

I may sound a  crook

I might look a fool

I am really  one.

I go by my way

never  into the sway

all through the day.

One After Another.

1a8be8b4a732e90ddd2adeda18b97ea8One comes after another

if all comes together

it would be rather

a stuck up in the corner

happens sometimes not ever

besieged by issues altogether

unexpected and sudden rather

before resolving the first one for sure

comes the other in a speed in a refer

involving into the new one a little slower

barges in the third one seeking shelter

tackled  carefully one after another

know not how I came out without a shiver

still the hurt lingers within whatsoever.

The Power Supreme.

092811_attribute_omniscientThe faculty of reasoning

goes with a resonance

why and how  always  boggles

the cognitive power overwhelms

certain factors need no reason

happen as if with an ease

could not give an explanation

a blind acceptance is a  resolution

the faith helps you to progress

the doubts keep you from promotions

take it easy as in the go

you would cover the distance in speed

the suspicion halts your development

question to a limit, no further

an excess of analysis would stifle

there lies a power far superior

would take care at the time of distress

well, rely on the supreme power

do the rightful at the right time

would lead you to triumph in no time.

The Place I Live.

A place where you live

be it small or big

belongs to you full and full

the affinity you develop

the affability you grow

puts you in a comfortable  seat

like not to go away for long

wish to sit there  with joy

whatever be the odds and struggle

a spirit holds anyone always

is it good or bad I do not know

for me it takes me very far

into the realms of fantasy

where I spend most of my time

dreaming, day dreaming

enjoying every minute of my life.

A Song And A wrong.

Predictions go wrong

diction goes in a song

demonstrations go strong

dedication takes you long

distractions make you do wrong

concentration makes you write a song

be those all in an amazing song

enable you to do nothing wrong.

An Immemorable Darshan

Madurai-Meenakshi-Amman-Temple4A darshan after a long time

exhilarating in a way

saw the Goddess Meenakshi

bejewelled and decked extravagantly

the diamonds glittering like stars

the gold shining like the  sun

the garlands of rose and jasmine

reflected a charm  in colours

as a pleasant odour of the flowers

along with the aroma of the incense sticks

accompanied by the chanting of mantras

the singing of slokas by the priests

punctuated by the rendition

of Thevaram and Thiruvasakam

by the musicians, the Othuvars

as they are called in Tamil

the people queued up to get a glimpse

patiently walking in  rows

saw many among the crowd

totally in an ecstasy

with tears welling in their eyes

it was a darshan scintillating

great be the Friday  morning

being  most favourite day of the Goddess

A Great Man Unknown.

It is about a man

simple and smart

dignified and gentle

well dressed and stylish

honest and earnest

I would call him great

as I love his charisma

admire his etiquette

adore his integrity

like his speech

many would not go with me

have a penchant for ostentation

an inclination for vanity

a wish for authority

would equate him to an ordinary

would not vote for him in elections

would not care to respect him

would not  present an award

he would as most of us

live unknown and unseen

die unhonoured and unlamented.

The 108 veena Recital —— A Rhapsody

download (78)A musical prayer  in great earnest

performed in the portals of a temple

known for its beauty and power

situated in a place of learning

the temple Meenakshi Amman

a lofty one with celebrations throughout

not a month passes without festivals

Madurai, the seat of Tamil learning

hosts cultural events in its own way

simple and solemn they are

bereft of ostentation and fanfare

the hundred and eight veena recital

sends a melody on to the heaven

where the Goddess Of Learning  “Saraswathi”

relaxes after a day’s work of imparting wisdom

she wakes up to the stringed rhapsody

listens to the flow with utmost attention

condescends with a smile of recognition

closes her eyes as a way of enjoyment

takes on her veena and starts to play

the divine music floods through the gates

comes in with such a rhythmic force

keeps in tune with the human song

the temple hall echoes with the “natham”

the reverberation enthralls the audience

the piety exhilarates and  insinuates

an endowment of mellifluous melody
