dead misery Poetry sons. Wealth worry

My Cousin

my cousinMy cousin is dead  and gone

a soft spoken lady  in tone

very fragile and small

encountered miseries in all

lost her wealth unexpectedly

her husband being a playboy

brought up her four children with care

the daughters  turned well bred  and fair

her sons lost their way  in their  teens

became wayward and fraud  as seen

she could not bring them back to form

tried her best to  restore form

could not at any level do so

that was her worry all the more so

the sons were the source of worry forever

died with that feel this day last year.

As The Age Goes.

I am going to be ten
jolly well cries my grand-daughter.

I am going to be twenty
cries  my nephew with joy.

I  would be thirty plus
beams my son with pride.

I am turning forty
tells my brother softly.

I am on my way to fifty
speaks my cousin meekly.

Well, I would be sixty soon
say I demurely .

Well as the age goes
the people grow
so do their voice  show
from high to low
with a mellow
that be the go
as years flow
taking us nearer to the grave
turning stoic and brave.

Out Of Range

My cousin is a bookworm
always reading in terms
with his thick glasses on
he read on an on
forgot to eat
was not neat
wearing a faded trouser
One day he got an offer
from a leading university
as Professor of History.
Mind you he became
stylish all the same
an overnight change
very much out of range .
