Locking up my house
shutting all doors and windows
setting the security alarm on
installing the surveillance camera
posting a guard outside
flew to different lands far and wide
enjoying the scenic vegetation
interacting with the natives
taking note of their architecture
and tasting the food of the alien land
As everything has to come to an end
returned home with revived cheer
Espying the normalcy and decorum
Opened the door happy to be back
Then flung the bedroom door ajar
found a fluffy white cat lying snugly
on my bed curled like a ball.
Disturbed by my entry she got up
walked past me coolly beguiling
the guard, the alarm, the camera
ridiculing all in one go.

Antarctica Calls
With the sun at its peak
did not know wherein to sneak
as the electricity was erratic
causing a fatigue chaotic
rushed out to the portico
with a book on Antarctica.
Reading through found
that there was no bound
as the continent lay on ice
where sun is never on the rise
It is always bitter cold
and nothing is sold.
Reading further started to shiver
pulled the shirt in a quiver
as the narration headed towards
Eskimos made me move forward
settling in a posture of riding a sledge
pulled by the reindeer crossing the dredges.
They ate the meat raw and fresh
said the pages without a stress
which brought a distaste in the mouth
unbearable to brook turned South
to the region where sun shines
radiating heat across the lines.

Out Of Range
My cousin is a bookworm
always reading in terms
with his thick glasses on
he read on an on
forgot to eat
was not neat
wearing a faded trouser
One day he got an offer
from a leading university
as Professor of History.
Mind you he became
stylish all the same
an overnight change
very much out of range .
Rickety Stool.
Un school.
Crying the child got ready to school.
eating up whatever she could
she was put in the bus with a load
of text and note books and lunch
The little one carrying everything saw a bunch
of her friends looking equally disturbed
pulling their faces long they remained perturbed
of the day ahead with its toil and turmoil
reading, writing, counting and reciting a total boil
of everything with nothing to store in the head
an expenditure of money, time and happiness instead.
Pledging the child’s happiness in the school
feeling that they have given the best they could
the parents go about with their ways and life.
Does this not sound a tedious strife?
Can we not explore possible means to solve this?
Not sending the children to school is one of these
that needs to be weighed with fervour.
Children already in should be un schooled quick so ever.
Let the child learn by seeing things that is around her.
Let she examine the shape, colour and material lying near her.
In the course things would unravel gradually and ignite
the curious mind with a lovely shine.
The concept may be an out of box attempt.
It would definitely serve as a preempt
to the much awaited renaissance in education
that has mulled, muffled and strangled for generations.
Mind In Delirium
A mind which cannot rest at ease
involves itself in gossip limitless
talking ill of others is one way
slandering unmindful is another way.
Why and what makes me do so?
makes one wonder ever so.
That mind should be extremely disturbed
with issues that keep it constantly perturbed
either by a heavy irrevocable financial loss
or by erroneous repeated flaws.
The monetary part sends a shiver
while the mental agony sets in a quiver.
Talking incessantly about a person
whom you do not like for no reason
impressively tells that you are jealous
of he being progressive and prosperous
and wish to inflict a dent to his image
by reversing his trend by a senseless barrage.
Nothing could pass through
as the partition was thick .
Nothing could pass through
as the division was in brick.
Nothing could enter through
either physical or abstract
as the passage was guarded
with the best available track.
The wall real or imaginary
is an obstacle for promiscuous revelry.
The wall serves as a fortress
against ill will and theatrical largess
The wall would outbeat the Berlin Wall
in its eloquence and in grandeur tall.
The Great Wall of China would play a second fiddle
to the wall raised in mind and heart looking like a riddle.

Unabated Cry.
The babe was crying.
while the mother was sleeping.
Hearing the baby’s cry
the mother opened her eyes.
Rocked the cradle few times
to make the little one sleep in time.
The baby continued crying.
The mother unknowing
at the moment what to do
resorted to feeding in a go.
The lady of the next house
came in swift toes.
Looking at the baby close
she found a small ant in force
biting the baby under the nose.
Smiling she caught the ant red
and put the baby in the bed.
Sleeping Is A Blessing.
If sleeping is busy
what else is not busy?asked my friend
Getting this thought in mind
wanted to obtain a find.
Sleep to me comes
when I know not.
I lie down in the morn
have a siesta in the noon.
take a nap at dusk.
sleep soundly in the night.
Work all day makes you busy I told him
Sweating and perspiring makes you dizzy.
Sleep all day makes me busy said I.
Refreshing and relaxing makes me shine.
Well that be my goal all through the days
and none need frown at me everyday.
Music be Thy food.
The music flowed in the air.
It caught me in a snare.
The melody was something rare.
reminiscing of the great musicians in the fair.
Listening to it keenly
I was able to get into it deeply
The nuances were so lovely
that made my heart melt fondly.
I took a stroll out into the avenue
The music flowed out from a venue
where a flautist was playing for revenue
With a heavy heart dropped a dime bidding him adieu.
