extended a lot of scope
far away became near and besides
planets in the orbit took all sides
a scientist of remark being arrested
his opinion sun is motionless and earth moves
being vehemently condemned as heresy
considered as against Holy Scriptures in proof
died the great astronomer in house arrest
be the fate of greatness in every quarter.
A day or two more to go
I would have to set the goal
could be one of in a target
that might place you in red
yet, I have to chose in a focus
otherwise it would turn into a bogus
might sound unfamiliar to you
might be somewhat of a roundabout true
well that is always my way of doing
taking one in a row with a loving
drop the one halfway abruptly
remain half done undisputedly
go I to the other with a fervor
would I complete with an ardour
nay, never not I , going by
the way I do things by and by
stay historic throughout the days
but I do finish them without a chase
that be in short a dimension of me
I remember my mother’s words “do or die. ”
On my way to London
the beautiful city of the world
it is almost done
as I am moving towards.
I am nostalgic
my dream lies before
it is euphoric
being a city of lore .
I set foot on its soil
great do I feel
my pride winds up in a coil
demure in the deal.
I see the Thames
flowing with a song
look at the London bridge
famed through a song.
The magnificence of the city
the Buckingham Palace
fascinates the eyes being gritty
massive structure in place.
The Hyde Park is a fantasy
with fountains in a sprinkle
the flowers blossom in an adequacy
the petals being soft without wrinkle.
I notice many a poet
marching up and down the lanes
some walk in a quiet
others come with lines that rain.
Art and literature flourish
the artistic literary inclinations thrive
could see in a brandish
the thoughts that spurt in fives.
Being a melting pot
home to many races and religions
London is a cynosure to all eyes in spot
would drive anyone into no nonsensical diligence.
Being a lady of few words
taciturn and curt she be
talks nothing unnecessary
whatever be the deals.
To her integrity is final
nothing would override
even the attractions so bright
precepts mark her strength.
Never would you see such a lady
traditional in her outfits
conventional in her outlook
sober and sullen in her behavior.
I could go on and on elucidating her traits
such being her poise and grace
she is a personification of majesty
anyone would pay obeisance to her naturally
I am proud
too much proud few say
used to walk
with head held high many say
still I do
with much more pride than yesterday.
I have been tagged proud
by my friends in school
as well as in college
even my siblings call me so
claim I not to be proud
as I am simple as ever.
How come I am seen proud?
I deliberate for a moment
am left clueless all the more
a light flashes through in a sudden
being quiet and withdrawn from the crowd
could be misunderstood in all possibility
as being proud.
Let all call me proud
I bother not any more
it being a quality much acclaimed
adorns me without any fuss
I am glad to hold my head high
know you well I am proud.
Inspired by magnificence is rare
it eludes most as they do not care
well, I think high of myself
what way am I in real self
I myself do not know
this has been how
so I go in my own way unperturbed
living in a world of mine undisturbed
Years have gone in such a stretch
I never sought any inspiration as such
being an exception the year past
I was caught up with a one at last
she being a good friend of mine
a few whom I remember in line
a leading gynecologist in a metropolis
whose friendship I long cherish.
I had an occasion to meet her in middle 2015
had to wait for hours more than fifteen
am not joking, as you might think, whatsoever
I stayed with her almost through the day ever
a petite lady with a sweet smile all through
worked from eight in the morning to midnight through
she operated with an agility in the early hours
had the very same alertness in the late hours.
My jaws fell apart with awe filled inspiration
my heart felt charged bereft of respiration
my eyes got stuck at the beautiful deft fingers
an experience in itself even now it lingers
a genial smile lighted her face all through the day
she looked fresh as a flower in a way
did she eat I know not when she did?
did she relax I know not when she did?
An exuberant inspiration it was to me
as I spend time gazing at the sky with glee
my life has a different dimension all the more
I live with a contentment, unexplainable, to the core
work to me is for a time and for a revenue sufficient
never could it override me whatever be the requirement
she would come out with a different engagement I know
as I find her coat pocket bulge out with currency in a glow
could that be the cause for her undue commitment I do not know.
She eats nothing
looks fully endowed with everything
an amazing thing.
I live far away from the ocean
yet I could hear its roar
I live far away from the lands frozen
yet I could see the fluffy snow
I live far away from the mountains
yet I could feel its loftiness from afar.
I live in a plain land totally flat
so I am plain as all that.
Some like it hot
some like it cold
that be for all
be it a drink or food
hot is better for some
cold for others
be it news or rumour
hot would be interesting
cold would turn frigid
be it a mood or a temper
hot would show anger
cold would soften down
so be it always in the run
hot and cold plays the fun
with that I could say
some like it hot
some like it cold
A hot day
burning in a way
no breeze anyway
sultry all day
I perspire the whole day
sweat profusely most days
have to for a while stay
being no other way
try to put up with it as in a play
have to endure throughout the days
being a month or two in a chase.
