At times flowers seem to talk
at least to me, they do so.
The roses in my garden
white, red and yellow
call me for a play
I hold their hands
go in a merry go round.
Near my patio the Hibiscus ,
again in a colourful hue
yellow, red and orange
beckon me to come near
I embrace them all the more.
In my courtyard, the Basil
green and fragrant look solemn
bless me while I pray
I light the oil lamps
fall prostrate before the basil
an obeisance I do every evening.
The hours fly in such a way
I never feel alone in my home
which might be without people
but holds a lot of lively species
the flowers being one among them.
