A Piece Of My Mind- – Over enthusiasm-Morsel-1

Enthusiasm enlightens the mind and cherishes the spirit. But, an overdose of it tackles your wit and disrupts your reasoning. As an overworked body gets tired, an extra loaded mind denounces radical thinking.

The enthusiasm extravagant in the economical sphere has caused a difficult context and a gruelling strain.People,.world over ,are groping in pain and pulling on in shoe string budgets. References of stimulus and rehersals of the rescue  are leading us nowhere.

An  anecdote of my childhood days comes to my mind. as a girl of seven, I was decked  with most expensive jewellery and dressed up in abeautiful south Indian apparel of pavadai and blouse, green Kanchi pattu  with zari and a matching green blouse with chumkis and embroidery. I accompanied ,my mother to attend a wedding of my cousin. My mother had warned me not to participate in any play and be careful. I nodded my head coyly. I sat beside my mother, who was busy talking with her sisters and relatives. I ,saw my  cousins ,playing hide and seek . I could not resist my temptation, I slipped from my mother, sight. I slowly mixed with my age group and forgot my mother,s warning. At the height of the play, one of my cousin , stepped on my pavadai, the kanch silk gave way. it tore . I fumbled and was terrified to see my mother, who waas still engrossed in the conversation. Tears roolled down, my eyes swelled up and my face got reddened,. I sobbed, my mother noted my precipitation. She came towards me, my legs got weary,I was trembling. She cast a severe look .Then took hold of my hand ,dragged me up the aisle. Her eyes looked daggers.

The investing community ignored all forebades and stop brakes. They wanted to make quick money ,and theydid make when the going was good. They should have blocked  the locking of money is stoocks, when the markets tended to go down. They mistook the decline, as a time to buy more. More and more they bought, more and more they got trapped. The unpredictable economy tumbled, the investors also fell with it.  The finance got nudged, so also the players who felt numbed. The stocks hit rock bottom, the marketeers ffell down . The economy looked daggers, the community of investors pose pathetic.

Had they listened to the voice of caution? Had they refrained from putting their money in the same basket?Had they paid attention to intricate definitions?Had they worked with determination? All these mishaps, all these turbulence, all these posterior reactions and all these indelible washouts would have been averted.

Over enthusiasm destroys wealth.

The Dazzling Illumination.

An apparition descends,

As if from Heaven,

Smiling and gay.

Beckons  all with a nod,

Its thoughts entice,

elaboration  and elevation.

Casts its eyes around,

Its feelings assuage,

Distinction  and  demarcation..

Raises its hands,

Its moves  promote

Protection and prevention.

Takes a step ahead,

Its charm invigorate

Integration  and inclusion.

Delivers a speech,

Its words  insinuate,

Inspiration  and invocation.

Its chant embark,

on a shore,

On an aisle.

Its hymns traverse,,

Over a front,

Over an habitat.

Its blessings aspire,

Towards a fugitive,

Towards an asylum..

Its mercy  reaches

The most trodden,

The most afflicted

.

Its Love surpasses.,

Its compassion surmounts,

Its glory twinkles.

.

It is a kindly beacon.

It is a benign torch.

It is a sparkling light.,

It is a dazzling illumination.

That exudes Warmth.

That emanates sublimity.

The Sparkling Light.

Move to the area.,

Wherein you find chaos,

Strive to restore,

Goodwill and peace.

Rush to the spot,

Wherein you see fire,

Struggle to extinguish,

Flame and anguish.

Run to a place,

Wherein  you hear thunder,

Beat to  appease,

Noise and   frenzy.

Speed to an arena,

Wherein you smell default,

Indulge to mitigate,

Foul and deceit.

Hasten to an encompass,

Wherein you feel albeit,

Involve to minimise,

Heat and pain.

Strike to an encompass,

Wherein you taste bitter,

Work to marginalise,

Nausea and distaste.

Fly to a destination,

Wherein you find aggression,

Slog  to stamp down,

Fear and death.

So to thee

Everywhere you find beatitude,

Endear to enrapture,

The sparkling light.

The Benign Torch

A little more thought,

To fellow human,

will render peace.

A little more kindness

To close relations,

will   send  waves.

A little more awareness,

To toxic  surroundings

Will signal safety.

A little  more consideration,

To  wreathing  pain.

Will  usher comfort.

A little more feeling,

To  real poverty,

Will  deliver joy.

A little more effort,

To wipe slander

Will supply  vigour.

A little  more amity,

To  the sinners,

Will shower grace.

A  little more enthusiasm,

To the desperate,

Will circulate happiness.

A little more mercy ,

To all mortals,

Will  resurrect glory.

A load of blessings,

A hoard of benevolence,

Unto you -benign torch.

A Kindly Beacon.

Extend love,

To the needy,

To the infirm,

To the poor.

Elaborate love,

To the children,

To the deranged,

To the deformed.

Eliminate hate,

From the mind,

From the heart,

From the deadly orbit.

Eradicate vengeance.,

From the action,

From the scene,

From the spiteful entity,

Envelope the world

Entire with love,

Engulf the people

Fully with cheer

Enrapture the soul

wholly with grace.

Endow the spirit

Totally with compassion.

Therein lies,

The essence of life,

Therein  flows,

The fine esteem of  love.

It is extraordinary,

A  godly sound  of flash,

It is exemplary,

A kindly beacon of light

Where To Find?

An exhausted physic,

A tired mind,

Needs rest,

Where to find?

An indisposed body,

A sick mind.

Needs  attention,

Where to find?

An undernourished babe,

A  starved  child,

Needs  food,

Where to find?

An  apprehensive destitute

A rudderless  man,

Needs direction,

Where  to find?

An aging  person

A helpless  old,

Needs care,

Where to find?

An infirm invalid,

A shaky gait,

Needs aid,

Where to find?

An infidel youth,

A crazy guy,

Needs focus,

Where to find?

An inert  leviathan,

A sleepy glut,

Needs inspiration,

Where to find?

An accustomed addict,

A noted  vagrant,

Needs rescue,

Where to find?

An undermined radical,

A novel witness,

Needs impetus

where to find?

An endowed spirit,

A lovely grace,

Needs enthusiasm ,

Where to find.

An exhilarated soul.

A kindred desire,

Needs  shelter

Where to find?

An intelligent quotient,

A net outcome,

Needs  result,

 Whose answer – eternity.

Malaysia’s Contribution To Environment

Malaysia is a beautiful country, rich in natural resources, and with profuse water flow.It holds an enviable status in South East Asia. The small country ,has a mutli culture population, of Malays, Chinese and Indians.

The three Asian races have mixed so well except for a few simmering here and there. I had taken a second home visa, and am constantly visiting the country for the past two years, rather ,I spend  nearly half a yearhere..

The weather is humid and moist. The rains are so copious and  the heat so oppressive , and sweltering , that the people seem to get scorched , but very soon  get drenched in rain. This in short is the characterstic of Malaysia,  with refernce to climate  in particular and with people in general. They may , at times be offensive, but shortly turn out to be so amiable and affectionate.

The roads Of Malaysia , need a special mention. They are so good and well maintained, that driving is a pleasure in this country. Even the roads in Kampam, and small towns are practically fine and devoid of potholes and speed breakers.

The carry bags strewn around , present an eyesore . The garbage is collected in a plastic bag and kept in front of every house, shops and hotels. They are cleared by the civic authorities late in the night. A significant move by the municipalities, but if they ban the use of these plastic garbage bags, the mother earth would be more grateful to the otherwise clean Malaysians. The supermarkets, big shopping malls, and the rehats, and hotels, invariably pack the things in coloured bags, plastic , of course. They may argue , that the thin bags are reusable, but why give way to it, when there are other alternatives. The shopping centers , could bring in thin cloth bags, or paper bags, or else bamboo baskets for heavy purchase.

This is what was practised during our grandmother’s time. The granny used to take a big bamboo basket ,to buy vegetables and big cloth bags to purchase cloth and dress materials. Grannies took food in banana leaves, which were easily decomposed. The big suitcases are the fancy of the modern age. In yore, the people took their belongings in baskets of bamboo or thatched leaves and bags made of cloth. They were easily manageable, though looked less attractive.

Going back to the basics , will save the earth from vicious  existence. We will leave a greener earth to our progeny, let alone anything else. The rich soil is the most precious gift to our children , than diamonds, gold , silver, and other movable and immovable assets.

Will Malaysian civic authorities give a thought to it? I pray that they should implement this concerned perception as early as possible.

Security And Scepticism

Security is mortals chief enemy says Shakespeare in Macbeth.A Machiavellian hero Macbeth, feels very insecure towards the end of the play. He ,who slew many, who treacherously deceived everyone, and who felt that he was the King of Kings, spent sleepless nights, bemoaned that the waters of the ocean were not enough to wash the blood from his hands. The delineation of the titular hero by Shakespeare is beautiful and slowly unfolds the character of Macbeth. The tempo is exhaustively firm, the thoughts of the protagonist is carefully unravelled and the tragedy is slowly laid bare .

Right , a similar incident took place  in the circle of my relatives. This man is not a King , but thought himself to be so. He is from an affluent family, possessing properties of worth, and investments in stocks. Not only he, but his father and siblings , talk in millions, think in billions, and imagine in trillions. In reality ,he lived not in modest habitation but very ordinary houses, with less amenities and no comfort. But he  made a propaganda of his wealth , in  a loudest manner. His prattle came to an end ,when one fine morning he disclosed, that he had loaned a half a million $ to his client for an interest of 18%. His client has not repaid the loan ,nor given interest for five years. The man who has taken the advance ,has totally failed and refuses to give. My friend has made many a mistakes like this represented case ,and feels very insecure. Is he not a faint resemblance of Macbeth?

Scepticism , is another quality that needs a keen research. Scepticism is suspicion or indecisiveness. Why does one becomes irresolute, because the scepticism in him is irking him. Shakespeare  comes with a famous character of Hamlet. To be or not to be , the lines  interpret Hamlet’s mindset. His suspicion  leads him nowhere. and the tragic  efficacy  fervently en wraps the  scene. Opportunities are lost, and the essentials go amiss. Chaos and confusion prevails.

Now , there are many Hamlets ,in reality. Again capturing an episode nearer home, I bring to the table another relative, who spoiled the wealth and reputation of the family by his scepticism. He , unexpectedly , got charge of the reins of the family business. He lost his head, and manged the affairs without trusting his own siblings, his managers, and the deputies who had assisted in the growth of the business. He suspected the financial institutions, felt wary of the auditors, withdrew from  right minded people, shunned old time affliates and changed lawyers .He mismanaged the entire business. The family has  lost everything, name ,fame and finance. Is he not a replica of Hamlet?

Shakespeare has made a thorough study of men, their mind and their idiosyncrasies.  Many centuries after, we find men of identical  qualities.

A Prince Then, A Prisoner Now.

Recession is a pain.It surpasses the limit of expression. It is so intense ,that words belie. It is so excruciating ,that feelings get benumbed. It is so horrible, that apprehension surmounts.

There seems to be a void everywhere, a gloom extempore, and a gruelling confirmation all around.

It has hit hard on all classes of society. The rich ,most surprising, are most  affected, The average are in deep trouble. The wage earner has been hit hard on the face.It has deepened and made a dent so hollow in the settings of many a sound chequered person.  The pull up is extremely chaotic and gristling.

Now , coming to the other part of the tear glistening depiction ,we find an anger sparkling intervention, which explode the normal caricature. It is the Raju saga in India , Madoff  and Stanford in U.S.The three are contemporary frauds, colliding and conniving egos, and immersed in slander, deciet and misappropriation .They have squandered millions in easy swipes. They have robbed the common man of his hard earned money. They have played deftly on his ignorance. They lived in Palaltial bungalows, had heir own jets, contributed in tonnes to philanthropic causes, ran trusts,  built educational edifices, opened up hospitals for the poor. They projected themselves as the saviour of the poor, and carefully built an image of a prudent, sagaciuos, dependable expert. The world believed them, the people trusted them and their employees worshipped them. Raju, Madoff and Stanford committed perfidy in the same manner, got trapped in the same way, and are  behind the bars in the same fashion, except Stanford.

They climbed high. They rose quickly. They flew with  borrowed feathers in great haste. Up , Up, up, they soar steep into the skies. Their leap was blindening. When we see a powerful lightening , our eyesight is lost, so we slipped to perceive their shortcomings, their flaws, their cheat and their disguise. We lost track. They exploited the fluid temptations and went up in excellence, in lucrative income and in status.

Every thing has to come to an end.The three princes have to wind up their show of grandeur,as they fell in an ambush ,laid by their coterie   They were diligent in rise and tactful in fall.Raju was held by his shareholders, Madoff  was pulled by his sleeve and  Stanford was poked by his depositors. Out came the truth.

The charming princes ,who wallowed in the lap of luxury ,have landed up in a cell. They, who were in absolute  comfort, are now spending time in the illventillated smoky corner. They, who flew so steep, have fallen flat.

Memories are short.Things transform so quick. It is hardly believable.Yet it has happened.

Buffet Crying Hoarse.

Warren Buffet, what has happened to you? Why are you so much perturbed? What is the reason for your disturbance? When the whole world  was shattered by the meltdown, when the banks failed week after week, to be precise , every Friday, when the crude oil fell from 147$to 35$, when precious metals went up and high, when auto makers ran  to the Capitol, for funds, when the governments world over are  indulging in bail out, rescue plans, and stimulus packages, when the stock markets crashed, when the housing loans failed, when the economists were breaking their heads, where were you Buffet?

You were sitting cozily in your lounge, counting your blessings, and your Berkshire Hathway investments was in a vantage status. You came out with advices, with schemes and you are now in the advisory panel to  President Obama.

You  invested in failing banks. You saw to it that you got an assured return of 10%.  We stood astounded, we were tongue tied, we became dumb, and our gutsy insinuations got numbed by your disciplined procedures. You said that” this is the time to put your money  on stocks ,as they are going cheap”.  There were not too many followers this time, Buffet. The investor has been bitten badly, and as the saying goes, once bitten twice shy, the stock player refrained himself from entering the game. If he had taken your cue, he would now be wallowing in  disaster and would be thoroughly disoriented.

By the way, what has prompted you to get disillusioned with your pet sport.? You stated a fortnight back , that economy is in shambles, and yesterday ,gave an indication ,that the economy has fallen from a cliff. It looks exactly like the sermon on the mount, a sudden revelation, a quick enlightenment, like Buddha ,who found truth under Bodhi tree.

Did anything go wrong? Did  you make a blunder?

Et tu Buffet!!!
