I Saw

I saw a baby

Cute and chubby,

With a toothless smile,

Making me stand a while.

I saw a  bunny,

White and shiny,

With  silky soft skin,

Jumping amidst din.

I saw a Peacock,

Erect and stalk,

Dancing with feather s beautiful

Enacting a recital musical.

I saw a lovely rose,

Little and close,

With a  fine charm,

Dispensing a grand form.

I saw the  sky bright ,

A  refreshing sight,

With a feigned cast,

Creating a reckoning contrast..

I am blessed,

As I dazed,

At all things wonderful,

Which made me delightful.

A Pinch Of Salt

Idioms and quotes take us a long way,

As they  elucidate wisdom in a sway,

A pinch of salt leads the fray,

With lot of  profoundity in the  say.

The idiom holds an in-depth  meaning

That proposes a serious  screening,

Of the  resonant   inquiring

Into an appropriate  dealing.

Talks with a two-way  ambiguity,

Takes us to a place of incredibility,

Inducing a position of susceptibility,

Making us rave in a uncertainity.

To comprehend the intrinsic  reliability,

 We need a promising capacity,

To unravel the latent   secrecy,

We require a superb efficiency.

Pinch of salt carries a taste literally

It also weighs a reference  to sarcasm  really,

Indicating  a distinctive   sting  formally,

 Retracing a  deliberation   instantly.

Bits And Pieces.

News in bits and pieces is uninteresting

As we do not get the substantial,

Action in bits and pieces is  non performing,

As we do not acquire the potential

Calculation in bits and pieces is  not fulfilling,

As we do not count in sequential,

Idea in bits and pieces is devastating,

As we do not construe the vital

Charity in bits and pieces  is  unrewarding

As we do not implement the credential

Love in bits and pieces is unrequiting.

As we do not receive the essential,

Learning in bits and pieces is disillusioning,

As we do not assimilate the ideal.

Living in bits and pieces is infuriating,

As we do not  accumulate  the integral.

Inflation Hits India hard.

Article first published as Inflation Hits India Hard on Blogcritics.

Inflation is at its height in India.

A kilo of onions costs 50 rupees (that’s about $1.10 in a country where the average per capita annual income is under $450).

Raw onion is the poor man’s side dish in India, but the escalation in prices has left him with no alternative: his diet is now only rice. The government, soaked in scams and scandals, is not capable of curbing the soaring prices. The political opposition is stiff and vehement. The administration is paralysed.

Parliament was not able to hold its winter sessions. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is in a tight corner. His ally, the southern-based DMK, has taken him to the verge of resignation. The Supreme Court, the highest judicial authority of India, is looking into cases of misappropriation of funds. The Central Bureau of Investigations is engaged in probing ministers, officials, and their aides who participated in the scams. In recent months there has been essentially no governance.

The disruptions have led to discontent among the people. They yearn for a change. But the choices are limited. The BJP, which was in power a few years back, is also not free from aberrations. Its drawbacks force the people to think twice.

There is crisis in every state. Andhra Pradesh is facing the Telengana revolt. Tamilnadu is in the grip of maladministration. Karnataka is in trouble, with an unstable coalition government. West Bengal had a spate of shootings and bloodshed a month ago.

The inflationary trend, which ranges from 12-13%, has led the Reserve Bank of India to hike interest rates.

The average Indian is feeling desperate. To survive, he needs an iron will. But, as always, he must struggle to sustain himself. He knows no happiness

A Ravishing Splendour

The circle  of kith around me kills,

The fret around the circle hurts,

The feelings  revolving round the fret despairs,

The intensity doused in the feelings burns,

The froth emanating from  the intensity overwhelms,

The bubble  evolving from  the froth spills over,

The transparency  felt  in  the bubble snorts across,

The flame  seen   in the transparency  radiates,

The heat let out from the flame  scorches

The sensitivity of heat  scathes,

The numbness of the senses  destroys,

The pressure of the numbness  suffocates

The tolerance of pressure stifles,

The virtue of tolerance is blasphemous,

The ideal of virtue  nauseates

The sequence of ideals  disqualifies

The falter in the sequence  extracts,

The fall from the falter pains

The hurt from the fall   excruciates

Alas! What a ravishing splendour!

A Painting

The ideas  put behind ,

The thoughts  pushed before,

The frame set  in front,

The concept placed  at the back,

The design sketched   above,

The pattern  drawn  below,

The colour  scheme splashed  all over,

The  background  settled all throughout,

Delivered a gorgeous portrait

Grapes Are Sour

When things go fine,

Grapes are sweet,

When things turn bad,

Grapes are sour.

Till there is a likeness,

Speech is pleasant,

When there is a hatred,

Talk becomes foul.

The human approach differs,

With the circumstances,

The  gentle  behaviour  retorts,

With the turn of events.

There is no predictability ,

To Man’s action.

There is no formality,

To Man’s thoughts.

The mind wanders  in length

The tongue wags in magnitude

The mouth swears in excess

The heart  spites  in intensity.

The equilibrium is disturbed,

The balance is tilted,

There is an upturn,

There is a raging storm.

Ambiguity Belies

Words are differently interpreted,

Actions are typically misunderstood,

Accents are peculiarly pronounced,

Feelings are definitely misconstrued,

Thoughts are freaky evolved,

Demeanour is frequently distorted,

Ideals are regularly devalued,

Hypothesis are necessarily mangled,

As the trend of ambiguity belies.

Elegy On Globalisation

Globalisation has a great significance,

Which has impressed with deference

To a  terrible turn down of difference,

In the fields of economic reference,

Evolving a voluminous grievance.

The concept is a latest  addition,

To the already piquant rendition,

Of trade and commerce transaction,

Meriting an upsurge in the progression,

Of gain and profit all in an illusion.

The lead aimed at outsourcing jobs,

Relying on cheap labour throbs,

Projecting a high revenue snobs,

Working on unnatural robs,

Resolving to  an irrelevant sops.

The expected predicaments have misfired,

The established economy has inspired,

As a rational and principle  discipline is  required,

To condemn the   upstart  ambiguity acquired ,

In  the form of globalisation  that is most admired.

Well ,let us switch to the olden theory,

Of barter system though weary,

Confirms a progress  not too dreary,

Accepting the reality in a  cheery,

Promoting an entire prosperity.
