It is time,
so says Mohamed,
throw a feast
to the near and dear,
not to forget the needy.
The day is remarkable
that of Eid Mubarak.
Being the culmination
of Haj pilgrimage, a recall
of the sacrifice of Abraham
the day is a celebration,
a festive mood for all Muslims
who extend good wishes.
A contemplation follows
while all faiths preach
tolerance and sacrifice
where do men learn
shooting and warfare?
Seem a contradiction.
Let each one from
the Islamic faith avow
not to take weapons,
not to inflict hurt,
nor spread terror, expressing
the true Mubarak spirit.
