Dame Luck Smiles On Obama

Obama assumed office of the President of U.S in January 2009.

He has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in October 2009.

A very quick recognition, that brings in cheers and happiness, awe and surprise ,at the same time.

He has yet to withdraw troops rom Afghanistan. He is in two minds , whether to send more troops or call them back.He is indecisive.

He has to decipher  a way out to break through Iran’s Nuclear Programme. The middle east unrest is prolonging .He is striving to quell down the disturbance.Yet he has been honoured by the Nobel Committee. It appears ironical

His speech in Prague about Nuclear disarmament is inspiring . He has not achieved anything promising, but is talking everything that possibly assures promise. He has captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for the future ,goes the citation. Well , he has won the award for his eloquence not for his performance. While standing up for the ovation, he would have definitely a sense of pride,  a feeling of greatness, and  an amazing experience of reverberation .At the same time, if his mind gives him a tick to the notation that he is not fully qualified for this endowment ,and if he responds to it in a wink therein lies  his greatness.. He is the Man. He has a bigger responsibility of living up to the clattering hope of the Oslo committee’s decision.Clattering  because they have pushed him to the end with a big noise. A misstep, or a slip would let him down    .

Lucky Obama, be careful.

Tamilnadu Or Karunanidhinadu

The state of Tamilnadu, down south of India, is known for its extreme way of thinking. It was in the hold of film personalities for quiet some time. It was in the grip of Tamil lovers for some more time. It has been tossed up by caste freaks. Now ,it is at the disposal of a single family, that of Karunanidhi.

The eighty-six year old chief Minister is ruling the state from a wheel chair. His retinue comprises a band of doctors, a group of his family, either  of his wife Dhayulu, or of his wife Rajathi, and  a pack off his party cadres. The channels ,telecast  his inspection of the site where the new secretariat is built. His van enters the area. Tha door is opened. His daughter Kanimozhi, steps out. Finally the hydraulic chair in which Karunidhi  is seated ,is brought to the fore. Sitting in the chair , Karunanidhi, sees the construction. The site  engineers, spreads out the plan , explains the lay out,and structural design. Karunanidhi nods. Then ,the daughter gets in. The van goes out o the venue.

The physical discomfort o the Chief Minister is apparent. His mind, people say is alert. It May be, but in practicality a person in the wrong side of eighties is prone to  forgetfulness, is inclined to break down in mental agility. Karunanidhi is no exception.

His  son Stalin is the Deputy chief Minister. His  other  son ,Tom boy, Alagiri ,is the minister o chemicals and fertilisers in the centre. His  daughter Kanimozhi is a o Parliament. His nephew Dayanidhi Maran , is central minister of Textiles. His another nephew, is a T>V Baron, holding sway over Sun T.V.

Where can you find such a representation of a family in a government?Even the emperors and Kings had a very minimal strength from the family in the governance.THe Karunanidhi clan virtually own the state. They not only rule ,but also possess vast lands in the major cities of Tamilnadu.

Long live Karunanidhi! Long live his progeny! God save them!

Transparent Transparencies

Water in a glass is a transparent  medium.A glass window ,I mean ,a transparent glass reveals what is inside.A refracted medium allows light to pass through ,but not images.A plain glass container exposes the substance it holds, whether it be liquid or solid  in an exact vicissitude.

This introduction  is for the media, which has a great responsibility in reporting the happenings, the episodes, political developments, scientific  experiments, technological exercises, business transactions, stock market announcements, companies annual returns , and moves. An unbiased   write up ,unmixed with fiction, untouched by distractions, unblended by dupes , unveiled by fantasy, is the need of the hour. It is not only a need, but a compelling character of excellent journalism.

The intermingling of facts and figures, the entwining of allegory and metaphors, the merging of the possible and the impossible, and the narration of euphoria and dysporia are found in literature. Journalism, is an illustration, rather a craft , that conveys news, in a descriptive  style and medium  through  wide spectrum of  media. It is governed by ethical guiding principles rather than rigid rules.

Dishonesty, plagiarism, fabrication and accepting bribe are treasons that are to be eschewed by journalists.

Media has had an abundant progress in the last decade. It has branched manifold.Online  and offline reporting, visual and broadcasting ,text and pictures , have made a gregarious progression .

Journalism is the next generation employment portal.

Golden Gold.

A ravishing beauty,

A golden yellow,

A sparkling  star,

Gold is  up above.

An enriching  bounty,

A tempting hue,

A twinkling ray,

Gold is up above.

An enticing treasure,

A  rapturous colour,

A glittering spark,

Gold is up above.

An enduring charm,

A metallic amber,

A  shining  flash

Gold is up above.

An aging grace,

An ancient cherish,

A fortifying  vision,

Gold is up above.

A scintillating glamour,

A  lucrative  revenue

A screaming  rise,

Gold is up above.

An exhilarating  gloss

A resolute gain,

A guarded  elegance,

Gold is up above.

Steep over the hills,

Lofty over the  clouds,

Soaring over the sky,

Gold clambers up

Heavy Luggage.

The executives of top notch companies are entitled to excessive pay and generous freebies.. The economy is bleeding . The recession is over taking normalcy. But the top brass go high in private jets to the capital to get alms for their sustenance.

The begging bowl and the jet  show an ironical depiction, a satirical subtlety, and a deranged euphoria. The retrograding economy compels an austerity. The precedent should emanate from the top officer. Then , an ideal, subjugated tempo would prevail over the mid level and junior cadres.A voluntary surrender of a percentage of salary and politely avoiding perquisites by the Chairman and Chief executives  would go a long way in promoting healthy  salubirious condescension to the company which supports them. This conduciveness that looks up in the small nucleus will fetch a powerful acrimony , by alleviating the otherwise obscene industrial perspective.

To forego a little  benefit ,we need a lot of determination ,a full dare out to retrieve the soiled grace, an entire resolution to pull out the economy from the woods. But such a realisation is hard to decipher among the executives. They bargain for even more perquisites, and claim a hike in salary to befit the strain they undergo in conducting the business. If a willing submission is difficult , then the government should appoint regulators to monitor the “luggage”,that is disbursed, and designate inspection to deduce the bonus ,free air tickets, holiday packages and other allowances that are recorded, and  compensations that are not entered.

Austere ,sober , serene movements will certainly push in a quick recovery and germinate a soft blend of prosperity and magnificence.

Silence Is Golden.-Metaphorically.

Bragging and prattling ,make no sense. Chattering and gibbering render you small.Fussing and exacting pose you ridiculous. But being silent and quiet ,remaining placid and passive, staying calm and still ,yields accolade.

The stock market made enormous noise a year back. There was high tone of buoyancy, top voice of celebrations, shrill note of excitement. It was a happy commotion. There was revelry  all over.

Then , the sensex tumbled. It fell unceremoniously. It touched the nadir. There was a pitched wail, noisy heaving, loud disappointment. It was a sad confusion. There was moaning all over.

The price of gold is shooting in a jet speed. It may reach 1500$ level,The predictions are exactly firm. The forecasts are firmly pointing up. It is proclaimed as a safe investment. There is restlessness all over.

The quiet investor , who was steadfastly composed throughout the quaky syndrome, has made profit. A buy order on exceptionally performing stocks has enriched him. They have earned him dividends .They have also enhanced his asset worthiness. Now as, the market is upbeat, his wise act of purchasing stocks at low prices ,would definitely give him an enchanting return.

His methodical ,prudent, exercise steeped in simplicity and quietude has borne fruits.

The adage can be metaphorically alluded to the acquisition of the glittering yellow metal. Golden investments in gold earn silent gains .Profits are in an explosive endorsement.

Indian Bureaucracy-A Tedium

Laksmi Mittal , Chairman ArcelorMIttal , has informed that his company ,is close to pulling out of a$20 billion plan to build two steel plants in India, due to dificulties in buying land. The farmers are reluctant to sell the land ,identified in Orissa and Jharkhand. There are also other procedural delays ,that hamper the setting up of industries, which make industrialists to shy away .

The Tatas, had to undergo similar hardships in Bengal. They ,then shifted to Gujarat, a more friendly region . The political buoyancy ,the Chief Minister, urged the Tatas to put up their plant  in Bengal. The Tatas identified an appropriate land area, started their preliminary work, when Mamta , protested against the proposition . There was a big agitation, shooting,, fasting and clashes, that made the Tatas, to withdraw. Bengal’s loss was Gujarat’s gain. The government ,should have worked on the plans, called for a meeting of the farmers, discussed with the local politicians, and should have arrived on a suitable compensation. All these would have taken place, but in a haphazard manner, or in a hush hush programme. So there was loss of time, work and cost.

The Arcelor Mittal project is also progressing towards similar destiny. Orissa and Jharkhand are industrially backward. The Steel plants will ensue a rapid growth to the region,by bringing in prosperity. If the farmers refute to part with their lands, alternatives should be thought off, instead of allowing such mega projects to slip . The state governments should keep this in mind and sort out the problem, that befits the industry requirement and the farmer’s compensation.

More Sad .

We are on Saturday. We have heard distressing news from all over the world. Death is in all enormity. It is outrageous, particularly this week.Despair mounts. Gloom permeates. Sorrow fills. Tears well. Heart sinks.

The earthquake ,followed by tsunami in Samoan islands, two successive earthquakes in Padang Indonesia, Typhoon Parma  in Philliphines, floods  in India, great drought in East Africa, have installed a delerium , have imposed a deliberate shock on the community.

Besides, such rude violence, a boat capsize in Thekkady , in Kerala, has aroused an indignation over the safety measures adopted by authorities. The indifferent , light hearted attitude of the staff of the tourist centre has cost forty precious lives. The amusement has been converted to a tedium.

Nature seems to be enraged. The unholy behaviour of Nature is ascribed to an environmental disaster, created by Man. It is, in a way right. In a way , wrong. Such grotesque episodes occurred  from the time of vedas, in the age before CHrist, some 2000 years ago. There was the great deluge , which converged in the tale of Noah’s ark, the submerging of Lemuria beneath the Pacific Ocean also adds evidence to the fact that  Natural  disasters were a regular phenomenon. We read about the disintegration of land masses, land slides , tornadoes  hurricanes that took place. even a few centuries back.

This cyclic eventualities did and do happen , causing hardships, creating disappointments, producing misery, and issuing bereavement. The loss is irreparable, both materially and mentally.

The week is drawing to a close. Let us be kept away from  pralayams, catastrophes, .”bencanas”

” Krishna  mukunda nee murare,”

Praise ye the Lord,

Allahu Akbar.——Allahumma salli-ala Muhammad

Mom In Tears.

When you beget a child, the happiness is so overpowering ,that you forget the pain  during labour and the toil you endure  during all the ten months of pregnancy. Seeing your child for the first time,is a bliss that is inexplicable, a joy that cannot be expressed ..Fondling the child for the first time, nestling her close to you, caressing her body, running the fingers through her hair , holding her tightly, are all experiences that cannot be put in words. A poet, while describing the mother’s nascent desire  may miss the most intimate feelings. A scupltor,  while  carving the figure of a mother with a new born child, may unknowingly slip to create the  mother’s intricate affection  A painter , while sketching the new born with the doting mother errs a little in portraying the sweet  smothering elation  .Such a wonderful  loveliness prevails over this beautiful bondage.

Taitasi Fitiao,  ran to her daughter,s school  in Samaon islands ,early Tuesday, when an earthquake shook the terrain, as the magnitude was violent , -8.0.She caught hold of Valjorefa, took a few steps. The wave got them, the child let go the mother’s hand. She floated away , crying “Mom, please”. The mother stood watching her youngest daughter drifting away, floating in the terrible waves.

The next day , they found her in her school backpack and uniform. The mother could not believe that her daughter was dead. The child lay in the school uniform. The family plans to bury her with her uniform, her notebooks, crayons and backpack, as she loved her school much.

Tragedy strikes  with unknown strength, with unbelievable  force, from unexpected quarters. The child is gone forever. The mom is in tears, which will dry in course of the day, but the grief is so enamouring ,so consuming and so stifling

A part of Taitaisi Fitiao has floated with her pretty daughter.
