Lovers Fly

A sparrow  brown and white

came down in a flight

along with came down another

could be his wife or lover no matter

played with affection in the green land

which stretched far and looked grand

a black squirrel  hopped and jumped

looked around in great pomp

saw the birds together in love

sparrowsmoved towards them  on a tiptoe

the little sparrows   flew away

each one in a different direction sad to say

the lovely scene ended up in  such a way

A Professor Dies While On Duty

It is a death  of  profound  grief

a relative, Professor of long years

worked until the  last with a belief

dependence on the children causes a fear

breathed his last  in the most unexpected

not at home or hospital as one would expect

but in the college  where he was respected

lecturing his favorite  solid mechanics subject

slipped and collapsed all of a sudden

a glorious death to a teacher  of five decades

to him the college was the beautiful garden

he  worked even after retirement, not  for fun

the transitoriness of life  shocks   one

the man who is so full of life  and bright

becomes  a corpse  in  a second

Well, that is the truth  many fail to realize

behave rudely, speak ill and are biased

they  live  in faults and sins

dodge and deceive  their own kin

the curse  would befall not only on them

follow Professortheir progeny as well

A Travel Less Travelled

Round and round

I go in concentric circles

an unending  travel.

Round and round

I go in a roundabout

a tiring journey

Round and round

I go through a monotony

a fathomless approach.

Round and round

I go  to a blind spot

a target unreachable.

Round and round

it is always in rounds

not one tangibleconcentric circles

They Also Serve

Seem not to move stagnant

stagnant  it remains

a push could prove

a fruitful gain

know not how to do

stand there in the queue

overtake and a  surpass

has never been my pass

so wait is the only way

patience throughout  the day

recall the words of Miltonserve

they also serve

who stand and wait,

The Untimely Call

The morning calls so often

makes me jittery

with eyes half open

get up hastily

stretch  the hands lazily

pick up with a reluctance

speak with no indulgence

whoever it might be

having lost the glee

the sleep early in the morning

and a wake up with a yawning

keeps me in cheer the whole day

lost now by this untimely call.

untimeliness in any way

provokes a fury all day.phone call

An Urgent Behest.

The equation goes along

the one not an equal

the other very competitive

the rich outnumber the poor

not often seen in society

if  found the wealth   strikes

the display is tremendous

open in a way of illumination

in the mode of driving

limousines and chauffeured drivers

palatial mansions and sprawling gardens

an eye capture and  a grand  living style

juxtaposed with the poor in the surround

where huts become homes in large

their dwelling is  meagre in standards

the meals frugal and simple

with nothing much to talk about

the distinction sets in a trend

an obvious one for that matter

a high stylish living on one side

a hand to mouth existence on the other

these leave us gape and wonder

how such inequality arises?

the rich  wealthy by inheritance

or by sheer luck or through illegal means

the poor in such sordidness with little to eat

fall into  the depth  of penury  due to lethargy

cause of a gamble, a failure to perform

ill fate or an ignorance in all

know not what brought in  the demarcation

exist in the east and west without difference

a situation needs an urgent rich and poor behest.

Impostors

the financial world commands

there are few demands

art and learning

sculpture and painting

concern not with monetary ethics

they wish to rely on aesthetics

most not understand the sensitivity

they are drawn towards the economics

the deals  of buy and sell  in gross

with that of profit and loss

ascertain a grand entry into society

they walk with an imperial virtuosity

there are few others  in the community

who ape and end up sordidly

pose as great men with interests diverse

little they know how their proportions work inversely

ignorant of the delicacies of art

they  talk about money from the start

such men are a threat to mankind

impostors  in all manner and kind.impostors

The Toast.

The dryness pervades

as the sun invades

the heat is in a tirade

no rains to trade

the warmth has made

the skin to shrink

they are  on the brink

of a break in a wink

hard to create a  link

with a blink

the sun stares at the most

not only in the coast

in every way it boasts

makes of man a roast.sunburn

Where? Wear ! and Ware!!

I am nowhere

I find myself not anywhere

I could be seen not everywhere

I am distanced from the where’s.

I do not fit into any wear

I have my own distinctive wear

I could be rarely found in any other wear

I am almost in a state of  tear and wear.

I use all the different kinds of wares

silverware and other metalwares

prefer to utilise the natural wares

as they contribute to the welfare.

The artificial are found anywhere

plastics and polyurethane wares

polyester and polyurethane in wears

Oh! the wares wear me  out everywhere.

These be the reason I am nowhere

Cotton  is my favourite wear

Pots are  lovely earthenwares

With them, plastic box I wish to be everywhere

What for the agitation?

A flash strike there arose

placards and slogans came forth

the shouts went up  the sky

the anger came from nowhere

the strikers marched forward

held the traffic for a time

the city  turned stand still

what for is the strike?

nobody knew for true

the pedestrians joined the queue

the drivers alighted from the vehicle

up the strikers went ahead

shouting with a fury more so

their eyes all red with fire

voices turned hoarse

Go away! Go away!

cried the agitators

the police came

burst teargas

the crowd fled

it was all over

in  a few minutes time

agitation

no one knew

who was the target?

None knows.
