The disturbed man
disturbs all
with his feverish mind
and with his rash actions.
He shouts and cries
slams and slaps
dashes and bashes
overturns and overthrows.
It is hard to settle him
hard to make him realise
difficult to reconcile
and bring him back to normal.
At times we feel compassionate
most times we disdain him
for his distraughtness
an unpleasantness surrounds
The wave be it heat or tide
signifies a change, a flutter
the one rises up with a vengeance
the other crosses over with an indulgence
both being overwhelming and stifling.
The temperature jump
s up
the warmth ascends in fahrenheit or Celsius
the waves go up with a force
the speed in meters and miles
both throw an effective insurgence.
The furious sun and the ocean
cause a havoc tedious
extrication from these elements
might prove fatal and devastating
with the sun stroke and epidemics on the rise
along with the loss of life and material
all in the go with the disaster pronounced
The coins and currency
their values oscillate
they depend on the economy
the stability turns them steady
with the rise unprecedented
the vacillation makes them ricketty
with the fall harsh
The barter system of yore
kept the economy robust
trade and transaction
were by kind not by cash
that was a system easy and secure
with currency and coins
held place nowhere.
The tiller sold his grains
the butcher bought them in exchange
the oil monger traded his oil
to a goldsmith for gold
while the money-lender
was there to advance loan
with interest heavy.
The money-lender was the only thorn
the rest were in tune
harmony was found in excess
happiness was seen all over
that be the days of ancient
when the missiles and airplanes
were not in the scene.
Bereft of
fast tracks and transport
men travelled extensively
the export and import worked well
bound by no exim policy
they repatriated their revenue
when there was no banking system
all done in miniature
that brought maximum returns.
it is a ride
going off the tide
well into the side
not under a hide.
it is a slide
very much like a glide
nothing in the allied
well into the belied.
It is an abide
not in the aside
but being fired
that too from the

having been tried
turning dried
nothing beside.
I had a long conversation
on the telephone
it was very long
but not at all tiring
we kept periods
one listened to the other
never got in between
it was interesting
I spoke with my maturity
nothing very high and wise
but a reflection of experience
the other end talked in his style
very sweet and inimical
raised his voice as though in an exclamation
spoke low as if in confidence
the whole hour went on 
I well into my late fifties
and he very much a year and a half
great was the time
lovely it was still more.
It is cynical
letting all to rot
not paying attention
not acting fast.
It seems whimsical too
that of great labour
mostly unwanted
sourcing the legal.
The legality is there
to find solution
how far could it be?
how quick would it do?
The time elapses
the interest wanes
the solution is 
not found
issues go out of hand.
The man keeps talking
saying he would retrieve
what is he going to?
no one knows.
A house is a house
with bricks and mortar
becomes a home
with fun and frolic.
The structure of stones
starts to breathe life
when the family moves in
it begins to echo the bustle.
The doors open out
and close as eyelids
a let out for the good
a shut out for the bad.
The windows go with the elements
they take in the breeze
and send out the heat
a friendly application they are.
The halls reverberate
with the chimes of happiness
they too record
the tears of sadness.
The private chambers needless to say
silently bear testimony
to the intimacy
and the squabbles.
The kitchen burns and heaves
pots of porridge and rice
get cooked all day
never it rests.
The family grows
as does the house
the one becomes big
the other turns ancient .
Memories rush and crowd
the human mind
the activities gorge in
flood the house.
The house as I feel
is an alternate to man
he lives and dies
while it lingers for years.
Eating to the brim
with no space
is life destroying
Eating to half full
with room for more
is life saving
Eating the minimum
with place for a lot
lends a life-giving.
The balance of life
being a juxtaposition
of good and bad
of positive and negative
gets across all through.
The balance in others
be it in financial
where the expense should
match the revenue
leaving a reminder.
The weights come into concern
that being measured in a balance
with the pans standing in level
the right side going in par with the left
a lively designation.
There enters love
with no partiality in the way
the affection being extended
not to one in special
but to all equally.
There be a balance of natural occurrence
the rains in manageable terms
an excess leads to flood
and a deficit results in drought
the elements like heat and cold
being in limits not overwhelmed.
The balancing act is like rope walking
a slight step this way or that
devolves into a fall terrible
down you go into the hollow
know not the depth
a crash unpredictable.
The way you live.
the way you think.
are in proportion.
The attitude goes a long way
The attitude tries to fix in a way
is an adjustment in the stride.
The perception too is important
The perception owes not a distraction
being an impression of the reality
The perception and the attitude
might sound one and the same
differ much in real version.
The attitude is an orientation of the mind
The perception is an interpretation of the senses
an abstract over the physical.
The nuance of life depends on these
one over the other all the same
a meaningful lifestyle on the go.
