A day out not in my schedule
a home bird always in a seclude
had been out all throughout the day
on an errand different in all ways
not used to such strain in the mode
as all different from the code
climbed up and down with a zest
a trial to put the very best
did so with a focused note
got caught in the foot note
the effort turned a zero
ran back to my exclusive bureau
into the cocoon of solitude
where I live with fortitude.
