Pranab Mukerjee has come out with a budget which is neither sensational nor a bore. It is lacking in impetus .It does not predict any positive diaspora. It is an uneventful presentation, and an uninteresting compilation. Every year , the nation witnesses a similar enactment , though by different ministers.Pranab quotes from Kautilya, Chidambaram from Tirukkural.They add colour to the Budget,but have no connected investigations. Quotes are good to hear, good to memorise, good in orations, good as an interlude,while listening to the monotony of fiscal statistics.But ,fail to produce a serious impact on governance and reforms.The maxims and sayings are just like spices in dishes. If the main dish does not turn out savy, the addition of spices is a mere waste of exercise

Education , is the core sector , that has to be be keenly observed.

The IIT’sand NIIT’s are getting Rs 2113 crores.Female literacy , is given a momentum.Banking and Insurance are to be with the government. Pranb is following the footsteps of Indira Gandhi. This has been in vogue for 30 years.

Employment, is to be provided for twelve million new jobs. How is the government going to provide it? A scepticism prevails Tax sops are not found, except for the abolition of fringe benefit tax.
The Budget is devoid of lustre, bereft of dynamism. It is a cautious tread over the irregular functions.

A break into the accepted idealogies is the quick need . An indecisive , monotonous approach is not going to bring in growth. This drab approach will stifle growth. A negative trend will set in. The sixty years of independence , has not brought in high level progression. Governments are churning the milk, that too not vigorously , but in a dull speed. Generation after generation speak about the rich heritage, bask in reflected glory. There is no charm . India is pictured as a land of snakes, a region of poverty, and a terrain of teeming population. harbouring various infections. When are we going to come out of all these implicated details?

The Nation expected a buget of credibilty, of susteneance and of growth. Obsessions with age old customs and ceremonial practises should be ripped off. Getting into the actuals, analysing what is the requirement, coming out of the clutches of big shots , should form the quorum of the government.

Freedom from all entrappings, whether it be from business tycoons, political big wigs, should be discovered . Put your nation first, think about your people first, work for the progress first, only then we can secure real prosperity .

A designed Philanthropy

Philanthropy is a quality of extraordinary merit. In its true sense, philanthropy needs no advertisement, requires no propaganda, . There is a saying in Tamil, ,”valuthu kai kuduppathu iduthu kaiikku theria kudathu”.that which is given by the right hand should not be known to the left hand , is the exact translation

Does this happen? A person, who donates a tube light does so, afterpainting his name in bold letters. The love for popularity, the trend to keep afloat the image of an elite are the seducing factors that drives the people to engage in philanthropic endeavours.

I came across a philanthropist, who neither fits into the real tag o , nor falls into the acclaimed discretion of cheap popularity.The Lady, in context, inherited immense wealth in the form of land, business and jewellery. The documents pertaining to the lands bore her name , The share certificates of the business ,were drawn in her

name . The jewellery , was entitled to her as per the law of inheritance. The registration of all these material wealth were done in exact format , as per the rules of the government , on the day , when she was born. The lady grew up , in all splendour. She got married , begot children. In the course of all these events, she was also advancing in age. No one can stop this natural phenomenon.. She was busy rearing her brood,with the hope that all her wealth was in safe hands. It was natural of her to feel so, as the caretaker was her father. So far , so good. Little did she realise the treacherous connivance that was in force behind her. The parents and her siblings were squandering her accruals.

The innocent lady was deceived by the family. She was shocked. She was truamatised. She was inconsolable. She could not believe the fact that her parents also conjoined with her co borns in looting her wealth. No one , can believe so. Poor lady, she has fallen a prey

to the wicked schemes of her family.The perfidy of the parents is an ignominous pursuit, that lacks sense and truth. The business has become unprofitable and is under liquidation. The share certificates are mere papers , useless and meaningless, that can be shoved int the dust bin. The land , has been pledged unauthorisedly. To retrieve it from creditors, funds more than its value are needed. The jewellery has been shared by the siblings.

What terminology can be attributed to such insiduous act? The donor has passed on the valuables without touching them , without seeing them. without enjoying them.Is it not of greater magnitude than philanthropy?

Amused And Bemused.

I was amused and bemused at the same time.The two verbs may appear similar , but certainly carry a distinctive meaning. Amusement is a distraction, is a light pastime, is an entertainment. More so , it is something frivolous and funny

Bemused is a confusion of many contradictory ideas, is a mixed up feeling ,is a bewilderment,. More so , it is something perplexing and stunning. Well, the incident which provoked the kindred feelings of foolishness and cluelessness is the behaviour of my legal counsels . I say it in plural legal counsels, because I refer to two of them , one fromIndia and the other from abroad. Both of them , in my case preached what they did not practise.

The Indian lawyer has a wide and deep knowledge , but shows a high handedness in dealing with his clients. He dislikes queries. He requires a thorough submission to his arguments. Doubts or queries are totally out of context in his directions. He affirms a preordained solution to the case he is going to take up, and prepares his points accordingly. The client, a person with a sort of deep analysis of the circumstances, more so like me , cannot be a dumb spectator to his fancies. He , when faced with a little opposition , looses his temper which is truly a sign of intolerance and a significance of pride. The case ,which he argued got a slight beating . He was ruffled by the judge’s rejoinder. This episode provoked me most. An uncanny negligence to the client’ request was an irritating approach. it certainly bemused me. I derived amusment when his child like prattle received a derogatory remark by the learned Judge.

His counterpart abroad, is a senior counsel, mostly handling cases pertaining to property disputes. The clintele of this worldy wise lawyer are a group of Indians , who have faith in his age than inhis wisdom. This group relied on his peculiar concept of settling the dispute on the basis of majority rather than on the fundamentals of merit.To him majority is a gospel . Merit is secondary. His hypothesis runs lik this. if in a family , which has four siblings, and if three of them conjoin together , with disturbing parameters , with non con firming ethics ,the lone fourth man is out of the game, however much his side be thronged with credits and propound a collective justifiable issues. The three siblings , would have combined for reasons best known to them . The learned lawyer, stoops to the level of the majority, just because he can earn a relevant revenue . This counsel is a butt of amusement , as he plays on the fiddle of ignorance of his clients and keeps his coffers full, and is a source of bemusement , as his impressions and movements predict confusion and lack justice.

Politics is the last reort of scoundrels , goes the maxim. What about lawyers?

Deficits Many

The deficit which is talked with firm measurement, which is addressed with grea t attention , which is followed with much curiosity, and which finally aims to clench the hot spot of the arena is the financial discrepency.

Finance plays a vital role in this materialistic world. Most feel that finance is the be end of the entire discretions. But , it is not so .Finance , is a trivial echo of the assigned portfolios of man.The money, we earn, is to be utilised ,for the welfare of the family in particular and for the uplift of the society in general.The deficit ,we experience,will surely land us in unthinkable trouble. The existence will become difficult. This suppressing tension will lead to mental spasm. The insecurity which arise will affect the mind. The complex developed will assume gigantic proortions , once the tighteness inthe resources arrives at a determintal level.

The restlesness of the mind is so oppressing that the physic gets waned. The exhaustion numbs the mobilty.The strained physic makes a detiorarating stance. .The illness that afflicts the body plays havoc rendering it a bag of bones ,capable of doing nothing.

The financial instabilty ,if taken seriously ,brings about a cyclic reaction ,as seen above. The alluring deviation of material abundance should not cross the human existence. This ups and downs in prosperity , is but a normal occurrence , as we perceive dawn and dusk. A too much attachment to worldly pleasures , turns life unworthy. It derides the quality of living. It throws out of proportion the beauty of life.

A detached equanamity towards material pursuits will enhance the essence of life. Care and caution are to be enforced to monitor wealth. But that should not become an obsession. There are other distinctions that have high value. The formidable revenue ,we get from life is not material wealth but an overallgrowth of personality . The showcase of richness is not money , but the physical wellness and mental contentment. Happiness does not come in pounds and dollars , but in the outlook and perception, in elegance and style, in approach and advance..

Inflation Negative.

Inflation is not growing . It is showing negative trends. This is being propounded by all Indian Newspapers and newswires. I have my own doubts.

Today the government has announced a rise in petrol prices by 4Rs and diesel prices by 2 Rs. This will give a jump in fares of public transport system. The common man will be affected. The trains will increase the cost of the tickets. Airlines will jack the fare with the escaltion in fuel cost. They will air lift the taxes.The freight despatches will become expensive. This will ultimately promote enhancement in the cost of provisions, vegetables and fruits. The manufacturing industry will be accruing heavy toll in the procurement of raw materials and outbound conveyance of finished goods. The circle is painstakingly completed.

The price of essential commodities like rice which was sold at 20 Rs / kilogram last year , is sold at 40 Rs now. This price is for the uality rice. Simaltaneous hike is revealed in other food stuff also. Dhal is up by 20%. Tamarind by 50%. Sugar by 12%. coffee by 60%, Tea nearly40%. Vegetables are not left out. Tomatoes are range bound from 20 Rs -30 Rs.Potatoes remain constant. Carrot, beans, brinjal , cauliflower have shot up. Peas and capsicum are touching new highs. Onions and garlic have increased marginally.The fruits also reckon high growth in prices. Oranges and grapes are fetching high money.Coconut is the only commodity that is facing inflation negative.

So much so . with the commodities sector ,which are raked by the rising . The precious metals shine so costly that the up rise is beyond comprehension. A gram of gold is about 1369Rs. Silver is no lesser than the yellow metal . It is about 23.90 Rs per gram..The land value is putting me in deep deliberation. A piece of land which was sold for 300.ooo Rs a few years back is 1. 5 million now. A small time land owner will automatically become a millionaire . What a phenomenal rise. All things make me swoon, render me dizzy. I need help both physically and financially to survive the test of times. But , I see no light.

Yet the government calls it out that there is down trend in inflation. The little economics ,I know , makes me count otherwise. How do the analysts reckon such a data? I am at a loss to understand the principles of economy. The rudiments of business never get into my head. I feel ,there is something radically wrong in my upper chamber.God forbid!

150 Years-Madoff

A century and half has been granted for 71 year old Madoff by the court of Justice. The swindler was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison.A man’s life span is normally 75 years. Madof f, if at all lives , can be moving about for 4 more years. Where is the meaning for 150 years. The pronouncement , judiciously sounds permeable , but in actuality seems far from reality. the long imprisonment is not going to happen . The judge, who rejected his bail plea , has given the maximum punishment to the author of the extraordinarily evil Ponzi scheme

Debating the issue of imprisonment, we come to a closer scrutiny of the scheme. The veiled Madoff scandal, if lifted will throw many skeletons from the lockers. The shrewd hypocrite has subtly targetted the vulnerable points, such as greed, fragility, over enthuisam of the investor. The investment sentiment has been thoroughly exploited by this devilish scheme. A relaxation , an easy mode of deliverance, a quick short time multiplication, an increased feeling of security, and the cajoling procedures have manipulated extensively the faith of the investor. The funds poured in and has disappeared in same acceleration.

Madoff rejoiced.Madoff reeled in wealth.Madoff maddened everybody, once when his trachery got exposed. Most have lost everything they had. Many have been fooled . Madoff has accepted his crime and has expressed his regret. He says , he is sorry about the whole affair.

Remorse and regret are fine sentiments the world will acknowledge. To err is human , to forgive is divine goes the maxim. But the hopelesness is hard to cope up. The tears welling up in each and every eye of the participant of the Ponzi scheme , are evidences of the horrondousity of the tale. The haplessness of thousands of people remains unanswered. Ripping him off of his wealth and funds , is a minor way of appeasing the tormented mind. The truama is hard to be effaced. The sentence ,could have been off a different strata, instead of this century and half.

The Ponzi scheme , has brought to light the metabolism of the conniving deceit. It has laid bare the fact of thorough ill conceived materialistic pursuits , which lead to a gross evaucation and torrid infringement.

Something is a common word used by all of us to denote a relative term, an unidentified product, an experience that calls for no attention,a feeling that cannot be described, an incident that is unimportant and finally a feigned connotation for an idea that is beyond comprehension.The Indian definition of this simple is entirely different from the dictionary meaning. The word itself gets an absolutely varied hue and complex design that is beyond comprehension.

Well, coming to the point, “something “is nothing but the extras that is linked with accomplishments. To put it more clearly, it is a bargain behind the scene, an underhand transaction , an under the table dealing.This “something” enables a free smooth passage to a conclusiion of tasks in the government offices. It expediates the passing of papers and approval of projects in banks and financial institutions. It snatches an admission in an educational institution of repute, leaving the meritorious in poor shape.It also facilitates procuring a ticket in the trains, which is the most popular mode of transport in India. It provides an easy entry into the temples . Worshipping the Lord is also not spared by this “something”. The more ‘something’ , you give the proximity to God becomes close.The judiciary , also succumbs to this defiend “something”The more you part with the more you gain . This is the simple hypothesis , the Indians, the Indian Government, the Indian bureaucracy, the Indian education system , the Indian financial set up, and the religious departments adopt.

It looks funny. It seems to be amusing . It is intangible. It is a practice that is followed all throughout the country in great unanimity. The ancient country , known for its rich culture, enviable heritage, and a land of hundreds of languages, varied religions, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Jains, and Buddhists, with a thoroughbred caste system , and with extreme dissimilarity in customs and culture, is virtually unified in accepting “something “to make things work. It is blatant bribery in pretension. It is a blackmark to the Indian governance. It is equally a deridingsymptom that should be eschewed by the Indian community.

The cry may seem to be out of box thought. It may appear insensible and ridiculous . It may designate an unappealing enumeration. But it has to be deployed to enrich the credibility of the country

Travelling , by road ,is a pleasure anywhere but not in India. The thoroughfare is full of bumps and pits, potholes and rough patches. India , has no well laid roads.The roads which do exist are full of sand and stones bereft of tar or cement.To crown all these abnormalities there are speed breakers erected to control rash driving . Speeding is an impossibility as driving itself is a night mare. Why the great necessity fro putting up this hurdle , at every 2 kilometres.

The question requires an answer immediately. This unmindful erection is causing lot of hardship to the car traffic. The obstacle is too high , that a slight careless driving would harm the vehicle, by damaging the sensitive mechanism of shock observer and crank shaft. The driver has to have a severe patience and possess a special skill to negotiate the man made barriers.

Apart from damaging the car, it also minimises the comfort of the traveller. The sudden jolt lifts the body high up , then releases the pressure by slamming the physic down.The up and down movement prescribe an unpleasant application , that the exhaustion unwounded is too much and too heavy.. If this occurs , once in a way, the suffering can be accepted, but this tossing is spread throughout the journey rendering the passenger vexed and irritated. The driver is literally defeated by this unwelcome barricades , that he yearns to reach the destination as quickly as possible. This quickness , is not fairly workable as the conditions of the roads are so terrible.

Safety is the reason behind such compilations. The purpose of security is a non existence virtue in this concept of Speed breakers.If a driver crosses this artificial set up, in a hurry, then an unthinkable mishap will take place. The speed gets arrested , no doubt, but it is done in a most crude fashion leading to accidents, falls and reckless devastation.

It is high time, that the Indian Government , thinks of an alternate choice to the incorrigible evil . A study and a thought ,to seek best available source to redeem this hardship is the top priority of the road transport ministry
