Recoils And Relapses

There  is a saying ,

That goes with age,

That prevails at all times,

That pervades all through,

That is true till  today

“Do not  beat a snake,

Unless it stings you”

Snakes never bite you,

Unless you meddle with them

So  it is you,

Who is more vicious,

Who is more venomous,

Than the serpent.

As you interrupt the snake,

So you intervene with your counterparts,

The snake attacks with a vengeance,

Mangling your existence,

The fellow strikes  with a sweep,

Destroying your reputation.

It may be Man or Snake,

The revenge is the same.

The harm you do,

Looms large more at you,

Than over the target,

Making you null and void.

This is what happens,

When you  unnecessarily  talk,

When you spread slanders,

Giving way to dark deceits,

While at the most unexpected  time,

It recoils  and relapses on you

Keeping Balance

A few days ago,

It was a sultry eve,

With no breeze,

And no cheer,

Sitting alone before ,

The fireplace in the parlour,

Counting the years gone by,

Watching the hours of the day,

Awaiting  the days  about to come,

While the fire burns steadily,

Spreading warmth all around,

The mind recollects slowly,

The incidents that had gone by,

The episodes that are happening,

The events that are to follow,

It is a positive assignment,

Working out the  benefits and defects,

Balancing  the credits and debits,

Finally setting aside  a surplus as   reserve.

It is God’s Will

It is a usual day,

With a gay morn,

When an unexpected call,

Disturbed the whole lot,

By breaking the monotony

Much to the chagrin of many,

Putting me in a state of surprise,

Unable to understand the relevance,

Unfit to equate the claim,

Unresolved to accept the duty,

I lay astonished,

I could not gather,

What it is all about?

While I was  shunned by my family,

While I was deprived of my rights,

When I was cheated of my share,

I find myself entrusted ,

With a great responsibility,

Which surpasses  that  which I am denied

When my due was pulled from me,

This largesse falls on my lap,

While I am treated mercilessly,

This trust in me holds me  high

As the family made me an outlaw,

The society has conferred an encomium.

I still cannot believe,

It is beyond my comprehension,

It sounds strange,

Yet it is true,

How did it happen? I question

It is God’s will ,I conclude.

Oh!It Is A Bud.

On the dais a beautiful bud ,

In yellow and red was placed,

Up  on the podium with a green stalk,

Posing a preamble to the talk,

Featuring a   controversial  issue.

Picking  the Green subject,

As the convention’s target.

The  guests were put to a resolution.

Of keeping the environment  in a high  estimation.

Promoting  an essential significance.

Elucidating the risk of carbon emissions,

The speakers  gave recommendations,

To minimise the ejections,

By resorting to  traditional  activities ,

Proposing a  valid solutions.

Most buds do blossom.

Into a beautiful flower,

Certain others do die ,

Into the damp mud.

And perish .

Most ideas get lifted ,

And are  converted into ideals,

Few others sink into oblivion,

Disappear with the years,

And die.

Every thing is like a bud,

A chance to win,

Is but  an opportunity.

A frightening set back,

Is but a destiny.

In success and failure,

It is more so.

In life and death,

It is most so.

Oh! It is a bud.

Somehow- A Compromise.

There was a huge gathering,

There was a great excitement,

Almost pushing everyone ,

To the grand staging

Of a mediocre recital,

Delivered by a powerful family,

Strong in politics,

Stronger in finance,

Strongest in atrocity,

Commanding all  in one go,

Throwing out wealth in one sway,

Challenging anyone who came by way,

Posing an imperious array,

While the performance began,

With an  incorrigible  rhythm,

There appeared a writhing discomfort,

As the recital went  halfway

The cadence broke loose,

There seemed to be a forced silence,

The   forced thrill died down,

The uncomfortable audience bowed down,

In shame of their participation,

In disgust  of their inability to oppose,

Yet the performer was at ease,

Rendering  a jarring   melody .

Somehow things go on,

Knowingly or unknowingly,

Ordinarily or extraordinarily,

Meekly or authoritatively,

Pleasantly or unpleasantly,

The world goes on.

Life Well-Meant.

It  is a six month here,

It is a six month there,

Finds me in fear,

Puts me in tear.

Sometime I am here,

Sometime I am there,

Most time I  fear,

I am nowhere.

Happening at the brink,

When I am  about to shrink,

While I  am apprehensive to link,

Force you to blink.

However,I carry on,

As days roll on,

While I stumble to fall on,

Hoping to thrive on.

It is a struggle to put up.

But that is how I am up.

Leading a life messed up,

With all things  mixed up.

Good comes steadily,

Bad rushes hastily,

The best  settles slowly,

The bad vanishes fastly.

This is the lesson I learnt

In no school I went,

But find in all corners I hunt,

Where living is well-meant.

Passion

A pleasant feeling  I experienced

When I went round the fence,

Inhaling a fine  aroma

Which comes out of the  rose

Registering an exuberance.

A lovely  experience I felt,

When I moved round the belt,

Imbibing a  desirous  note,

Which came out of the  gathering,

Recording a staunch forte.

A picturesque scenery I  sighted

When I climbed a hill   exalted

Invigorating a  grand sublimity

Which emanated from the  depiction,

Reminding of a dainty depiction.

Passion in all things we  see and do,

Leaves a memo  all true,

synchronizing a cordiality,

Which retains  a unique modality.

Beautiful Beauty

I see beauty in the lovely dawn,

As the sun makes it entry,

Into the  duration of yawn,

Creating a dazzling gaiety.

I espy beauty in the  dainty flower,

As it gleefully dances merrily

In accord to the shower,

Portraying a jubilation gleefully.

I notice beauty in a song,

As it propels a melody,

In cadence to the long,

Proposing a  celestial rhapsody.

I  find   beauty in a child,

As it chuckles joyfully,

In tune to the  mild,

Propagating a cheer happily.

I see a beauty  everywhere,

As it is strewn all around,

Even in nook and corner,

Enriching the basic ground.

Sonnet on Inflation

September saw a rise,

Of unexpected highs ,

In gold , silver and stocks,

Demanding a  courageous pluck,

To compromise  with the unforeseen luck

The trend  kept the mind in fear,

While the heart went near,

The  expensive luminosity,

The brightness of the metal  is  great,

In terms of movement,

The surging is crucifying,

In relation to buying,

Leaving us in  tight corners,

Making us   loathsome  borrowers.
