In India most marriages being arranged

with love marriages being not favoured

while attending a wedding of a friend’s son

who being an excellent chef in the run

saw  the boy’s mother   in tears

she was all along in fear

as how she is going to find a bride

as people  regard culinary expertise as only a side

being not a preferred profession for them

while software professionals rule the realm

this skill has become not a worthy one

and the girl’s parents consider not this one

as a suitable match for their daughter

with that the boy being  not in the matrimonial  market

the mother lost all hopes of reaching the target

therein arose her disappointment and  distinction

her health deteriorated and she had an infraction

being in a ticklish turmoil all the while

only now she looks relieved and in style

as she  has succeeded in fixing a girl for her son

Madurai —Deficit Rainfall.


Rain falling all around the place

but not on the very specified spot

made one  wonder and gaze

as that area was  unusually hot

being out of focus in a phase

falling well behind in a shot

with the rainfall in a maze

and the area getting deficit rain in short

that being no other than my place

All Through Six decades And More.


A man  with all  the most defaults

be it a range of physical flaws

be it a  package of mental fault

he having both  beyond law

nothing could bring him together

his talk falling short  of standard norms

his moves incoherent altogether

his thoughts having no forms

the looks ,of course being not his fault

but the attitude  has no binding to  any clause

thinking too big is the irony to dot

having so many negatives in the cross

knowing nothing and behaving funny

gets through the  community narrow and small

once walking  out of it feels  dazed in the sunny

creating an  unremarkable and abject sixty five year old man downfall.

Well, that be his way of life all through six decades

exposing his shortcomings at all times with an onslaught

that be his style and presentation in all facades

A syndrome peculiar has set in
which calls for a check in
seemingly little away from the normal

as it is a revelation to me now

having no time to think about elders greatly

as he had no foe
he did not have to bow
as he disliked show
he never bent low
never intended to give a blow
wished to get in the flow
with a perfect glow
he moved slow
and did not know
how to  speedily go
as the target was in a row
hard to hit with a bow
so shot it with an arrow
