Wagging The Tail

Wagging the tail the dog entered
sat cuddled near the chair
looked around the living area
could find none of his companions
they be his master and his wife
along with their beautiful child
all showered their love on him
the master was strict and affable
while his wife kind and caring
that of their child mischievous and playful
they made a team great and inspiring
a perfect home for the cannibal
which never missed a single jaunt on the course
whether it be a ride across the country
or be a walk round the park
the dog occupied the vital seat in the car
beside the kid altogether making a happy band.

The Child I Never Bore

The child I never bore

turned out to be attached more

nestling closely to me

whenever she gets near me

smiling at me with affection

whenever she comes home in vacation

talking to me with love great

caring for me without abate

that much I am blessed

having found a child instead

who I feel has had a link

an attachment without a blink

that would go a long way

making both of us gay.

The Toddler.

Wanting to see better
went up the ladder
saw a toddler
wheeled in a stroller
who was looking all around with joy
playing with the toy
smiling along in coy
he being a boy.

The passers-by look at him
he being called kim
appearing very trim
apparently very slim
it being a light dim
the ambience was grim
yet his cheer was to the brim
making us look twice at him.

My Angry Grandchild

Angry she is very angry all through.

knowing not what to do

knowing not why she was so

sat worried all through the day

At dusk went to her slowly

still wild with burning rage

she turned away hastily

not wanting to see me at any stage.

Walked slowly back with eyes down

knowing not how to appease her

thought of what wrong I had done

breaking my head as ow to satisfy her.

Looking at me with a raised head

she said in a voice soft and firm

you have gifted a book to my brother instead

not thinking of me in any term.

Unable to explain my act to the little girl fair

as she is a just a four-year old child

placed her in my lap talked to her with care

saying that her book is on the way my grandchild.

Saving Marriages

Differences do crop up on and off

between husband and wife with a scoff

mostly with a harshness in the pay off .

Well ! that is how life is made off

ignoring the faults totally with a laugh

appreciating the merits greatly with a smile

there would be enlivening harmony all the while

with that marriages would run smoothly without derail

calling off uninvited divorces and separation

leaving the children to live in peace in integration

under the canopy of love and care in absolute definition

The Call Of Birthdays.

Fascination about birthdays

excitement over that special day

the fun that comes with it freely

and the joy that brings to the child naturally

could be expressed in no way.

The child about four to ten mostly

feels at the top of the world intensely

as eyes run round her keenly

while she is cutting the cake gleefully

hearing the Happy Birthday cries.

The tempo goes on for ever almost

as certain individuals on the most

go through the same thrill utmost

with an even more exaltation foremost

as they cut their cake happily

with

ninety-one candles lit.

Birthdays bring joy for children primarily

with a new dress and a celebration regularly

while the seniors go with the rituals fervently

with a fear in mind and a desire to have a longevity

hoping not to suffer any malady and illness

but badly wanting to extend life with a fullness.

I Do Not Play

The child is into dancing now

she is also learning music with love

She knows to swim and skate

and does them swiftly in a spate

she does mathematics

and is good at histrionics

reads story books at bed time

solves scrambles in no time

does all things with great spirit

beams her mother with pride

turning affably to her daughter by her side

who in a soft voice sadly says

I do not play.

The Man And Master.

A man of little means
working from morn to night
not a permanent job in hand
but doing odd jobs at many a home
very well-mannered and genial
above all most trustworthy
has no expectations in life
lives from his earnings
with his children and wife
moving about in a bicycle
answers every call with a smile
and talks affably to everyone.
Sad to say that man had to face a brunt
from one of his masters
who called him to his office
scolded him for no reason at all
asking him to swear that too
on his child ‘s head
he had to do and did he
then walked out from the place
carrying his little child
completely broken and devastated.
