A shyness in the phase
seen apparently in the face
a deception in trace
enough to chase
the suspicion in gaze
a chance in all size
to go with a tries
that be in frontier
not be seen in the exterior
entirely a ploy to deceive
a masquerade not offensive
yet an easy way to cheat
a coyness covers the deceit.

A Diagnosis
A diagnosis is a reading
might be exact
all be the result of analysis
done by mortals in a lab
sometimes carefully and with attention
other times in a hap hazard way
entire reliance on such reports
would prove not worthy
it is the physical experience that counts
minor irritants are always around
a diligent study is the reason
up or down they go about
fear should never set in
it would disengage the mind
an obvious reference should there be too
ailment mostly is not in the body
lies elsewhere almost in the mind.
See A world.
The street I crossed through
seemed to bustle all true
shops of all kinds on either side
engaged in business of every kind
a hair dresser in a corner
a druggist next to him
could see a physician dispensing
the wholesaler very busy is in between
the grocer squeezed in an end
beside him is
the mechanic
actively engrossed in his work
opposite to him is a house
with children playing
by the house there is a canal
through which all the sewage runs
dusty and polluted the street looks
yet life moves about in speed
Well! a street in itself is a world
Pin Head Drops
There is a drizzle out there
drop by drop come the rain
not big ones as I wish
tiny as pin heads they fall
wanted it to last for a time
disappeared in a few seconds
a disappointment gross
not only to me sole
to my plants too on whole
starved they are full
to my trees also still
look they parched
to my lawn entire
seem they very yellow and dire
to my ground in strain
appear scorched and drained
Would not the rain come?
I cry along with my entourage
No sign of rains in the round
a hot humid weather all around.
The Cherished
The most expensive produce
I thought a decade before
something precious
it was wonderful
glitters and gleams all through
the one thing I deemed most cheap
liquid simple found in plenty
no shine or no reflection
a colourless, odourless fluid
transparent and very useful
excelled in the aspect of utility alone
a decade later I find a difference
the costly one still remains so
whilst the no cost product
has gone up enormously
most so in value all over
to the point I deduce
it is the diamond that is held high
the plain water has overcome
rather overthrown the diamond
defying all expectations
scarcity mounts up
the paucity creates a demand
most cherished and dear it has become
A Coincidence.
A visit to the place long after
had been there for a condolence
two woman almost the same age
well past the age eighty
bearing the same name
born in almost the same family
married into almost the same families
at the same time
one died a fortnight ahead
whilst the other yesterday
might be a strange coincidence
it happened all the same
a sad month indeed
yet be a relief to the old women
who had suffered and worked a lot
to lift their family
by their grit and determination
The Flow of The River.
Likewise the river flows
so wise and clever
flows she with no stop
stopped she for no reason
reason be not well-
known
known for her steadfastness
fast she runs in force
forcefully she exists
exists she all the year
the year of rain
rain falls in excess
excessive in the catchment
the catch being profuse
as profuse as the bounty
bounteous she looks
a look with a beam and pride
a pride in the right sense
sensible and excellent.
My Morning Dessert.
Thee morning walk round my house
an half an hour it would be
a stroll under the canopy of trees
they be mango,chikku, jackfruit
along with asoka,gooseberry,naaval pazham
while around the house on all sides
there be a score of coconut palms
tall and lanky with nuts on the top
it is a little oasis amidst the concrete desert
I go about in a relaxed way
as I have noting imminent to do so to say
pick up the small black berry like fruits
called naval pazham
in my part of the world
look like big beads indigo in colour
shine in the morning sun like black beauty
they depict a pictorial phase
as they lie there on the brown ground
some half bitten and some with no flesh
gnawed and chewed by the birds and squirrels
while I collect I cross many of them
they stare at me in anger and apprehension
my domestic staff look at me with a grudge
as I gather the fruits diligently
collect them in a vessel
wash them with care not once but twice
to remove the sand on them
that lie profusely on their skin
garnish the fruits with little salt
set them aside for half an hour
the berries would absorb the salt so well
they would serve me as a dessert
the taste is beyond expression
salty and delicious all the more
with a lot of iron hidden
I eat one by one with ease
a happiness I derive not elsewhere.
Fire In Sight
Fire burst out
nay not literally
it be from a foul mouth
spits and spills venom
hotter than fire
that be also from the perception
emits anger and fury
not them alone in the way
be there a lot of envy
added to this comes the body language
the shrugs and pouts
corroborate abate in style
a being so rally there
lives in the midst of us
under the pretext of a lamb
profess an innocence all the more
scary to note such behaviour
yet common among the kin
beware of such pretensions
hardly you be able to distinguish
caution is the word across
go with it in a toss
gain you the benefits
if exercised without any defic
Called “Vairam”
The hair has turned silver
the face reflects a golden hue
the lips display a coraltinge
while the cheeks are scarlet as ruby
the emerald tone overall
along with a sapphire feel
she in her platinum years
stands there as ebullient as rhodium
while all the precious takes the scroll
there be a charm of all in one
that be the lady at the stroll
baptized as “vairam” at home
translated in English as diamond
has she all the precious in her control
a rich lady not in name alone
in character and looks too as detailed above.
