Shops big and small
shops on pavements
sell goods for a call
high and low.
The belief is so
that big shops
deal with quality in the go
selling branded ones.
The mind-set is so
that small shops
handle mediocre goods in a row
transacting unknown products.
There is one more belief
tha giant malls price
the goods high with no relief
and tax more.
l
With that goe well
the convincing thought that
small shops sell
for reasonable price.
I believe not these beliefs.
To me shopping is a skill
as to find the quality and tariff
altogether in one go.
Such discriminations
are frivolous and childish
as there are exhibitions
to select and choose.
Small shoppers have
personal touch while
high-end shopping markets enslave
bereft of this intimacy..
Shopping has become a relaxation
a mechanism and automatic
with the online introductions
getting everything at home.
Long ago it was literally
seeing, feeling
and buying virtually.
a lengthy process.
Later on it became’
seeing in hurry and
buying in hurry like a game
a quick procedure.
Now it is express speed
seeing through websites
placing orders online instead
receiving them at home.
There is a change
not in shopping alone
but in every sphere in a range
from medical to learning.
,
The time was short and terse
The task was great and hard
The ratio being inverse.
needed attention not slip shod
.
Not only attention in terms straight
but required undue proficiency
The ratio being direct.
one balancing the other in efficiency.
Life is a calculation
of add ups and deficits
The prowess to solution
lies in our hands still. explicit.
Applying the principle
of arithmetic in proportion
the task of fulfilling the valuables
becomes an easy disposition.
Standing in the gate
an old man was watching
the cars plying up and down
pedestrians walking to and fro.
He stood there
for a time little more
caught a glimpse of
a school bus .
The children saw him standing
waved to him lovingly
gave him flying kiss
through the air.
The old man happily
waved back to them
with eyes wet
went back home.
This has been
his daily routine
for years together
which keeps him going.
The lovely children
who wished him first
would have grown
into handsome adults.
The continuity goes on
year after year non stop
with the children going
in the big bus to school.
A peculiar thought it was.
Strange and different
a little quixotic too.
Had it come to mind
a few years ago
it would have seen the light.
Being little late
as years have lapsed
it has lost its relevance.’
Revelling on the preamble
than on the main part
I look strange.
It is a simple thought
very practical and easy
not born on the right time.
It is a crucial and important
if happened in the right moment
would have been a success.
Well, again,I am out of track
going in circles
not tapping the sore.
Yes Now I remember
it is a thought
that of birth.
I keep rice to the crows
everyday before I take lunch.
This has been my practice for years.
never once I have forgotten to do so.
A few days ago felt very sick
Tired to move about lay in bed
did not prepare food myself
so no rice for the crows.
Right at half past one
the crow came to the spot
Seeing no rice to peck
started to caw with a drawl.
Tossing in my bed with high fever
could not make out the time
hearing the crow’s call
knew it was half past one.
Gathering myself with difficulty
made my way to the kitchen
finding nothing than a bun
placed it on the spot.
The crow from a distance
looked at my feverish move
came towards the bun
smelt it and flew away.
Creating an endowment
needs great sensitivity.
Taking it up all throughout
requires an endurance.
Maintaining its decorum
necessitates a tact.
Withdrawing from it
is a plain surrender
exposing the inadequacy
exhibiting the frugality
laying bare the inefficiency
altogether a fallacy.
The give up raises reasons
leading to discussions
dissecting the pros and cons
finally lending an acceptance
and sealing the chapter
closing the issue thereon.
With a long face
and anger in the eyes
pointing the fingers
pouting the lips
the lady started
her harangue
admonishing some
punishing a few
appreciating none
piling praises
on herself and herself alone.
Then she walked grandly
totally blind
to her faults
of respecting none
performing more than bad
in all her endeavours.
