My Knee

????????????????????????????????????????The knee which has borne me through
which has held my weight all through
which had made me walk with style
which helped me fold and squat,
which stood me at all times
is slowly giving way.

The Commitment Be Yours Too

organic farming
A man and his wife
lived humble with a strife
in the outskirts of a city
away from the rumble.

They had no issues
lived with mango trees
and coconut palms
in the shady realm.

They did organic cultivation
using leaves and waste in proportion
as potential manure to stimulate
the trees and enrich the land,

They pumped water from tanks
using solar power without any prank
the man and his wife thus
contributed to the wellness of land

Their yield was remarkable
while their products were chemical free
all in one stroke they
enhanced the land and man.

Their field was shady
the heat was minimal
the area looked so pleasant
different from the rest.

They are philanthropists
in their own way
contributing to the environment
by deploying techniques excellent.

Take Care.

phone
A little while ago
in the early hours
while getting up from bed
the telephone rang.

Gathering the body together
Took the receiver
heard a loud laugh with
a noise of clearing the throat.

Little bewildered on one side
and bit amused on the other
in a tone angry shouted
Hello , hello, hello thrice.

The laughter did not stop
went on for a few seconds
and a voice gruff
spoke in mono syllables

Take care of you
Take care of your belongings
Take care of your safety.
followed by loud laughter.

The voice was familiar
but changed to deceive
It was my friend’s
who plays such games for fun.

Fun or real
such calls are annoying
and cause a fear and dislike
early in the morn.

My Grandchildren

grandchildrenHeard a song in the garden .
It was so soft without any burden.

The song flowed down the aisle
and through the windows in a sail.

Pushing the curtains little and peeping
found my grand-daughter singing

Knowing, my presence would make her halt
stood with tempered feelings behind the slot.

Our own children made us responsible. .
but their children grant us pleasures invisible

Jeff “The Terrible”

Labrador2
The golden brown labarador Jeff
came as a small pup to our family
one and half decade ago in a huff.

He was friendly and unfriendly all in one
cordial with the family and rough with strangers
playing amicably now, then barking in a gruff tone.

Jeff grew tall and strong and became a terror.
The neighbourhood hailed as a “Terrible”
as its roar sent down the spine a shiver.

My children went to distant lands
leaving Jeff to us father and mother
and the three of us remained a happy band.

A few years later my husband had to move
while Jeff and I had to live in the family home
with nothing much to keep us in the groove.

As things were getting ahead in normal pace
I had to shift and join my husband
giving Jeff a lot of loneliness and lot of space.

Jeff was in the care of the servants
Unable to bear the separation
it took ill and became defiant.
.

We rushed back home in a hurry
Jeff was lying down with eyes closed.
Seeing us he Wagged his tail and smiled faintly.

We knew Jeff was in his death bed.
Next morn a fleet of crows sat around him
crowing hoarsely signalling the end in a trend.

The Grand Old man

grand old manWith silvery hair and sunken eyes
With stuttering talk and toothless jaw
With thin physic and a bent gait
With slow walk and a feeble talk
the man still reigns strong
not over the country or a state
but over his frail mind
keeping it alert and agile
abreast of the world affairs
well versed in economy
strong in business ethics
stronger in pathos and
strongest in recommendations

death unfolds.
When the engine misses the rhythm
death catches up.
When poetry misses the rhythm
it dies.

A Momentous Collapse.

dead in a second.Known for her integrity
keeping away from curiosity
reserving herself to herself
talking not a word more
disciplined and straight
she walked and talked
She collapsed literally
when she faced a blame
that too from an unexpected end.
She burst out not in anger
but at the venomous bite
sharp, strong and stinging
broke her into pieces
left her paralysed for a moment.
Gathering strength she regained
from the momentous assail
got back her strength and attitude
that had been with her all through the years.
