Where there be humanity?
there be not found much humility
there be only impertinent authority

The year going up to three hundred and sixty-five days
while the leap year having a day more
they roll on in no time as seen
great they seem to be when they begin
amidst shouts of Happy New Year
going demure when they wind up
with the heave and a sigh
saying with a displeasure
that another year has passed.

This being the charm of birth
and being the melancholy of death
when anything new and fresh dawns
there be a cheer and rejoice
both fading away from the arena
as quick as a wink in a shot
as the memory lasts not long
getting into the regular norms
that being the acceleration of the events.

The Rugged Path

Expecting nothing out of life
that which received came in the course
that being lost which works out great
went without coming to me at all.

As the rivers flow through with ripples
life pass through without much events
there being no furore or flutter great
going by the tide being the way.

Has had many misgivings in life
settled back with contours of grievance
had to overcome them in the go
otherwise would have been sealed by their ridges.

Perceiving a steep mountain unnerved me
the height and loftiness made me lose hope
awed by its massiveness I stood below
amazed by its beauty I became enchanted.

That being the essence of life in a verse
the mountainous passage having a meandering path
negotiating and walking high up with strain
a pursuit difficult but not impossible

Pursuing the clamber with a will and focus
forgetting that directionless climb would lead astray
slowly and steadily have made the way
being an achievement calling for an award.

Bringing Up Children

Spend more time with your children

that would be for a promise

looking after them with care

would prove to be a bliss.

Spend time not money on them

as the attention you devote necessarily

hastens in a great progress definitely

that would be an achievement in the float.

Spending money on them and on their wish

could lead them to a growth phenomenal

being like a cat on the wall watching deliberately

aiming on a rise or a slip into a fall.

The extravaganza you put forth

putting them in expensive boarding schools

pulls them off from you two-fold

creating a distance in proximity and affection.

Pampering them with largess in all

Settling them in comforts in full

reposes them in a faith untoward

they not knowing the reality in an entertain.

That be the way to bring up children

monitoring them closely yet away

being not an expense too much nor too little

a balanced juxtaposition that would delight.

Time they say
being the essence

How Do You Spend Time?

The regular chores wherever you may be
be it in your home town or abroad
seem to be the same all throughout.

Amused I find myself when people ask
how you spend time over board?
straightening up I thinks for a while.

Nothing pretty different for me anywhere
with the routine behind you
reading, writing and cooking.

With the roof over the head as it should be
with a comfortable working space
I feel no difference wherever it be.

Shopping has always been not my way of life
with a few wants and desire
find great comfort at home with my companions.

Companions, you might wonder who could they be?
there be not life around but lively things across
throwing light on topics of interests that carry me on.

By now,you would have guessed what they are?
being that of books and my computer
those take me around the world from where I am ?

After giving out so much I ponder
why they be so inquisitive on my day-to-day work?
as I am a very ordinary person known not by many.

I settle down with ease quiet looking around
they be asking all these for the sake of talking
a time pass for them not for anything serious as I think.

Friendship For Gain

The tendency of people nowadays
goes with a thought of benefits
that could be the cause of friendship
that would be the reason for affection.

Designing a character suitable
all being in an appropriate position
that too moving towards an abrupt destination
where the privileges abound in proportion.

The thought of friendship regardless of gains
looks like an age-old formality in the run
when people showed affection for the sake of love
expecting nothing in the background and at distance.

The expectation of profit yielding relation
proves to be an agnostic revelation
that small and tiny transactions
take the cue from commerce leading to a frustration.

The Shadow

The shadow of you
comes always with you
be it in the front some times
be in the back at times.

Going by it you feel a fear
that some one is following behind
somebody closely watching you
being one of great apprehension.

Down the spine goes the shock
a drag of the happenings not right
an impression that everything is not well
sitting tightly on the mind.

The evil that one commits is like a shadow.
The devilish actions get reflected in the shadow.
The designs and trends gleam in the shadow
lending an uneasy feel proposed by the shadow.
