Four —- The Even Number

The four  being a number

goes across without a slumber

the sides are all four

the directions being four

east, west, north and south in all

could  be a fair call

Hinduism  talks of four vedas

rig, sama, yajur and atharvana vedas

four being a Four Corners on white bgnumber even

divisible in even

two and two on either side

easy to go about in an abide

that being said of four

having the value in core.

The Aunts of Mine

A beautiful day it is
the mind looks wonderful
nothing much to think about
as usual retrospecting
got stuck at one point
back to the days of my aunts
they were four altogether
knew them for their loveliness
the eldest being short in stature
tall in her decisions
spoke in form and authority
humorous and practical
a favourite of mine
the second one wasaunt not serious in anything
a spendthrift and very kind
the third one was quiet and went about her way
while the last aunt was petite and soft
hurting none spoke in whispers
the clan of mine now dead and gone
still rush back to me when I am alone
keep company with me spelling out love and care.

A Four Letter Word.

It is a four letter word.

Call it what you may.

It is  on the sign board.

It  denotes a place.

Many names are below it.

They also stand for places.

The four letter word stands first.

Look at it, nothing else.

The command reckons.

She being a scholar stays put.

She gazes at it from afar.

Nothing is visible.

The colours blue and white sparkles.

She sits  puzzled.

She sees no letters

She perceives  a writing vague.

She squints her eyes.

Tries to decipher.

She could not.

It is a four letter word.

Shouts  the voice.

She keeps silent

She has become an illiterate.

She expresses a wry smile.

She makes no noise.

The Accusation.

There was a bang next door.

Something fell on a floor.

Other things flew out of the door.

Certain others flew in a soar.

Every other thing was in fours.

The shrieks ranted the air.

The shouts lay everything bare.

There was nothing to share.

There was no one to care.

It was a terrible blare.

“It is you ,you”,  accused a voice in anger

“Not me, me,”sobbed the other in a whisper.

The dialogue was converted into a slander.

The exchange was disgracefully vulgar.

The incident did not propose a healthy augur.

The storm died down with an intermittent intervention.

The intrusion became a hapless, weak contravention.

The go back would be a shameful digression.

A physical abjure would have been a better proposition.

Alas! the wordy abuse was an incisive demonstration.

Brands Of Four-

Birth of you keeps me wondering,

Family of you  makes me thinking,

Friends of you get me embittering,

Actions of you are detesting,

Oh ! tell me why  you are so infringing?

Your deeds force me to undertake a study,

Up I go with my frantic search ready,

I got a background of your  family already,

No wonder you are so undisciplined and greedy,

Committing faults  mightily gaudy.

The eldest of you is a  school drop out,

Talks incoherently in a shrill base throat,

Clad in shabby, unkempt  attire throughout,

Thinks he is a perfectionist in a float,

Vitally he is  a treacherous cut throat.

The next in order is  the only educated ,

Speaks in measured terms not affected,

Dresses up in impressive clothing well-managed,

Behaves  with charm and grace absolutely dignified,

Truly  he is  an elegance  finely styled.

The third of the family is an empty head,

Prattles in  broken disorganised  thread,

Wears  the most unsuited  dress code ahead,

Poses himself to be  well read,

Really  he is a snobbish dread.

A family so different I rarely find,

Not looks but thoughts  also differ I extend,

Integrity  also has a graphical bend,

The siblings move on   to the end,

With their own  specific blend.

(The four  brothers  are products of imagination. The poem refers to none dead or alive)
