Proving The Theorem

There being people very modest
There being people very ostentatious.
There being people in between the two
borrowing something from modesty
and plucking the rest from ostentation
finally ending up in a fiasco
landing in non body’s land
sad and sorry through the programs.

A friend of mine was not seen for sometime
A few days after he came to meet me
Probing over found out he had celebrated
the wedding of his son with few guests.
Feeling a little angry for not inviting me
asked the reasons for holding it so private.
Hee said too many guests and too much preparations
would spoil the solemnity and sanctity of the wedding.

Another incident gave a different experience altogether
An invitation printed grandly with decorations all over
soliciting to grace the Diamond Wedding Anniversary celebrations
With the curiosity to find what they do and how they work out
went ahead of time and saw the extensive elaborate arrangements.
The pains they had taken and the efforts they have put across
became so tiring the couple lost their cheer and glow
remaining in anticipation as how the occasion is going to go about.

The two opposite episodes in equations different
proposed a deliberation profound and necessary.
If privacy is knocked down by public interference
the decorum gets eschewed in a way prolific.
There be a demarcation between the two
while weddings bring joy to the couple
there be minimal invitees to wish then well
and the comfort and liberty should be theirs.

The Rise And Call

Rose up early at dawn
saw that darkness has gone
while the morning shone
with an affectionate fawn.

The light orange sun
was in a slow run
having great fun
interacting with none.

The pale blue sky rose
from its lazy close
reluctantly up from doze
preparing for the day’s course.

It being a beautiful sight
stood watching till morn eight
cooked nothing for the early bite
half-hearted went to the kitchen right.

The sun winked at me from afar.
I would have rushed but for
the mundane call which barred
my enjoyment greatly to an earthly jar.

Grab And Amass

The desire to grab everything
that comes in your way recklessly.
looks far more evil than stealing.
Taking away others due stealthily
denying their rights wantonly
illustrates the mind in violation.
Stealing, is comprehensible
as it is by the drive of need.
There arises a satisfaction
when the requirement is fulfilled.
This wicked pursuit of amassing
finds no merit and is blatantly erroneous.
Condemning the action strongly
and ostracizing those who do it
should be undertaken by the affected
not only in courts but in every sphere
as they are the most deceitful
where the society is concerned

Sunday is longer than Monday.
my friends used to tease me
when my inner skirt stood longer
than the outer in a little manner.
Now, retrospective the days that have gone
with skirts and blouses proudly worn
comparing with each other the dress
pointing out that this pattern is superior
with the smocked blouse looking grand
making each other feel superb and inferior
that way of act brought tears
prompting each other to call
proud peacock and galloping horse
indicating the magnitude of pride
and the speed in which the words came.
Those were the days that still remain fresh
that can never be forgotten even after decades.

Forego Weekends.

Weekends are for rest
They are to be enjoyed.
When does one enjoy?
With the week days in office
the Saturdays and Sundays
have more work than other days.
Cleaning the house thoroughly.
scrubbing and vacuuming
tending the garden
cooking delicacies
spending time laundering
shopping for the week
all throughout the two days
make the weekends stressful.
With children at home
there arises exceptional
care and monitoring
giving the mind and body
no amount of rest
which both badly need.
Come no weekends after the fifth day
the routine of getting up
and attending to work
gets along without interruptions
But come the break every fifth day
there emanates great toil
and greater drain with
greatest exertion and fatigue.
With that there arises
a clarion call
let us forego weekends.

Pink And Blue.

Girls like pink
boys love blue
Pink and blue
dominate every buy.
The dress is pink
school bag pink
pencil pink
and everything pink
cries my pink little girl.
Blue is not for me
it is for boys
and turns not on blue.
She touches not blue
anything blue is for her brother.
Seeing the waters blue
in the sea of blue
she exclaims and gasps
so much water for my brother.
Know not what to say
She soon gets over it
pointing to beds of flowers pink
it is all for me.
A quick reconciliation
and a quick smile
make blue and pink
very delightful colours.

Starting to write with crayons.
drawing lines and figures
the most creative of all
the wall being the canvas
resembling the paintings of Picasso
Colours splashed on the walls
lines going from up to down
from north to south
vertical, horizontal and crooked
all expressing the child’s feel.
With a giggle and a chuckle
he goes on with his project in glee
till his mother comes in a hurry
seeing the mess forcefully pulls the crayon
scolding him for destroying the wall
takes him away in a fit of anger
and there ends the creativity
with a loud cry and intermittent sob.

Economy Revives.

Getting into the pavilion
where they had gathered million
talks about billions
hitting beyond trillions
rant the air with shouts and cries
while calls on the stock markets
and claims on the housing
have caught the fire
the thought about money
has reached the sky
where hundreds and thousands
have no say in the context
as the speculation mounts up
the trade volume rises up
indicating a trend lively
that economy has become robust.

Accepting Responsibility.

Citing many reasons for his failure
he came out with a flimsy reason
ascribing to his unsuccessful bids.
That may be true to the very word
but sounded totally foolish
Had he been little more focused
he would have won it with great merit.
Simply saying that it has escaped his attention
does not hold water as the loss is enormous.
He always throws the towels in despondency
never subscribing to the defect openly.
Telling this and that for the fall off
has been his way of life in the course of years.
Never wanted to learn a lesson from mistakes
but always wishes to get the best of other’s efforts.
The character of him has been of great distress
as he is known for his slips and faults.

An Apple A Day

An apple a day keeps the doctor away
goes the maxim with an emphatic stress
many fruits claim the same way
as they also have nutrition in excess.
Fruits do give adequate vitamins in the fray
while they are new and deliciously fresh
They release a healthy growth on the way
when consumed in right proportional plus.
Every fruit has a lovely taste for sure
Some are sweet and mouth-watering to eat
others are sour but still a delight for ever.
Few are though bitter still tasty beyond beat.
Not apple alone is healthy say the rest in chorus
With pears and grapes claiming the top rank
while mango and tropical fruits call with an arouse
plums and peaches speak out in a voice a bit tanked
the lesser known ones mangostin and durian give a chose
being liked by a few and detested by many keeping away from the bank
With their voices heard with a bang and with a whisper altogether
one can conclude that the maxim is just a careless include.
