Didn’t I win?

I liked to win

didn’t I win?

before or after

now and then

I lost as ever

lost did I ?

before or after

now and then.

Yes I did

lose is to win

so I won

with my loss

failure is a stepping stone

a step for success

so I failed

I stepped ahead

I strode a little too far

it was a misstep

I fell down

a loss once again

have to step once again

Shall I try?

Might step up

could overstep

finally a misstep

Lo! I go down

it is a slide

up and down I go

Up it is  a slow climb

down it being a fast fall

Win I not!

Not even for a fun!stock-photos-composite-image-businesswoman-stepping-up-37360943

I do not shun

as I step ahead

The Stone Having A Heart.

The stone remains unturned
It is been there for long
being thee in the same position
braving the heat and rain
none bothering to turn it over.

What lies below it no one knows?
Why is it lying there no one knows?
With that being in the same place
and being in the same position
lying there untouched being a mystery.

People pass through it paying no attention
Children paly around it considering it a huge toy.
Lovers sit over it talking for hours together.
There being a buzz of activity all around it
yet it remains undisturbed and unperturbed.

The stone has no heart or feel they say
stone hearted being derived from this reference
let that be true as found in the annals
but to me I feel it has a feel too
that has become immune to the trials it had encountered.

The stone being most patient and bearing
stays there all through watching the bustle
never getting into it for heaven’s sake
it being also kicked and dashed by people in anger
staying silent and calm in the scramble
illustrate its silent laughter at man’s ignorance.

My Worth.

The days I have lived

should it be fair enough to say

the years I have lived

that sounds good considering my age

have been spent on nothing I feel

having lived like a tree or plant

No!  that would not be a befitting comparison

as they have given shade and yield

I have been through with no initiative

just eating and sleeping all through

doing nothing serious and practical

can I ascribe my existence to a stone?

Oh!  that would not be a proper equation

as a stone has stood the test of times

remaining patient for centuries together

but I am worthless than a stone  greatly

Well, did  you say only now you  have fruitcome to know

with a jeer and a smile in recognising my inability

Well, that mockery is not without relevance

as I had been all through irrelevant.

The Lass Turns Into A Stone.

Sitting tight on her chair
gazing at the moon in the sky
mumbling something to herself
she sat there for hours together
not going to her bed
with the night getting darker
and midnight fast approaching
she sat tight in her chair
unmoved by things around her
not knowing it is night or day
but staring at the moon in its shine.
How long she sat there one knows not?
For in the morn she continued so
passing on to the afternoon and then to dusk.
It is hapless to see her thus
like a stone totally set and totally fret.
Sadness can make living beings into stone
hard and impenetrable,sullen and serious.
lass.

The Dog And Disaster.

It was half past ten in the night
There was silence all around.
There were few light around
coming from the houses in the surround.
Most of the households have become quiet
with the few elderly burning the lamp
reading and watching programs in the T.V.
There was no more activity in the area.
In the dim darkness all things looked sullen.
As every other house got into darkness
with the inmates engaged in relaxation
the night reigned supreme with the moon shining cool.

As everything and everyone had resigned to slumber
there arose a disturbance enough to wake everyone.
It was a blast from a mine far away.
shaking the whole neighbourhood in a take off
Down came the stone rolling down in speed.
The houses lying low got hit by the boulders
The children cried in fright and pain.
The old could not pull themselves out from the horror.
The men ran here and there setting toward rehabilitation.
The women pulled out from the ruins as much as they could
Lay trapped in the ruins a poor dog who warned them earlier.images (88)

Desire Everywhere.

Money is found everywhere.

It is found in stones in fare.

It is seen in paper all fair.

It is the cynosure of all eyes  in glare.

As paper becomes currency to share,

doubling comes into play albeit to bear,

While stones are mined  from earth bare,

Value enters the fray with care.

When diamonds are excavated in places rare,

created finds its way in  the market with blare.

Gold rush gets ahead  with a snare.

desire  brings about a shy dare.

The longing for such is insatiable in a ware.

Calling for a buy out  in quantities is a trap flare.

It exceeds the capacity in an exhaustive bear.

Throwing out everything out of gear.

Just A Stone.

It is just a  huge stone,

It is only a  shapeless stone,

It looks expressionless and prosaic,

It has a  long story behind it.

It has a history unknown to many.

The faceless stone has been for centuries,

It has seen generations of men,

It has heard them talk incessantly,

It has noticed them pass uninterruptedly,

It has  recorded confidential matters  silently.

The stone had been lying there for ages,

It had not been cared for by one and all,

Disregarding it as lifeless stone,

Incidents took place around it.

Yet, it lies there unperturbed from time immemorial.

You could  easily set aside it as a stone.

Addressing it as a pig-headed bone,

Laughing at it with disdain and contempt,

But do remember if it is turned upside,

It has a whole lot  to relate that would put you to misery.
